- Traveling through the life and work of the painter Luis Quintanilla Isasi, with his great quantity of experiences and his presence in singular moments of our recent history, "The Other Guernicas" deals with the enormous loss that the exodus of the most significant thing of one of our intellectuals meant for the culture of our country, as a fatal consequence of the Civil War and the later Dictatorship. The symbolism that encloses the gestation and the vicissitude lived by the fresco paintings (Los Frescos, "Ama la paz, odia la guerra", currently exhibited in the Paraninfo of the University of Cantabria) that Luis Quintanilla elaborated by commission of the Government of the Republic for the Pavilion of Spain in the Universal Exhibition of New York in 1939, and that were disappeared from 1940 to 1990, places them as a fundamental narrative axis of the history that develops this work. Santiago Carrillo, Alfonso Guerra, Almudena Grandes, Gabriel Jackson... are some of the more than twenty testimonies of the documentary "Los Otros Guernicas", but the great star of the collaborators is, without a doubt, the brilliant New York director and actor Woody Allen. These testimonies allow us to delimit how was the life of this brilliant artist, how was his life and his works, to go rescuing little by little his known works and the lost ones. With the passage of time some of this artist's works were forgotten, but thanks to this documentary an unknown information is rescued that will submerge the spectator in its recovery.
- The documentary is about the destruction of the republican educational model. It narrates the cleansing that Spanish teachers underwent during and after the Civil War. April 14, 1931 brings to Spain the possibility of an unprecedented change. The Second Republic is the most profoundly democratic essay in its history and aims to introduce the country into the concert of the modern world. Education becomes the spearhead of the reformist ideology, with the determination to make citizens instead of subjects. "The republic will be saved by the school," his theorists went on to proclaim. On July 18, 1936, all those hopes were dashed. The military uprising was especially preyed upon by the teachers. Seventy years later, History still does not dare to give a figure of murdered teachers. But this was not the only blow to the school. Francoism began a process of purification that lasted until the 1960s and in which 6,000 teachers were expelled from teaching. The purge affected the entire teaching staff. The procedure was the usual one of the regime: everyone had to prove their 'innocence'. Franco died on November 20, 1975. Many things have changed in Spain since then. There was greater freedom, openness to the rest of the world, the arrival of democracy... and some republican teachers return to their posts in the school. After 40 years, those who remained faithful to the law are 'amnestied'. Spanish society shows that freedom without anger is possible. Will it be possible without memory?
- In November 2002, the oil tanker Prestige caused the biggest ecological disaster to hit the Spanish coastline. The Prestige was a ship that sank off the coast of Galicia, causing a spill of crude oil. From there arose a movement that organised a wave of solidarity to clean up the affected coastline and demanded environmental, judicial and political responsibilities. The devastating effects of the Prestige achieved the rectification of the PP government on the legislation of the navigation of single-hull oil tankers on the Spanish coasts. Bringing the legislation into line with that of other countries such as France, which already prohibited the navigation of these ships along their coasts. If there had been legislation such as that of the other countries of the European Union, the magnitude of the ecological catastrophe would have been avoided. This documentary aims, through the testimonies of all the sectors involved, to shed light on the questions that remain unanswered more than a year after the sinking. A work touring the entire community of Cantabria in search of testimonies of people who experienced the disaster in the first person, because the crude oil filled all the beaches of the Cantabrian coast without mercy. The coasts of Cantabria have received more than 20,000 tons of fuel oil since the date of the shipwreck. The documentary counted with the participation, among others, of the Councillor for the Environment of Cantabria, José Ortega Valcárcel, representatives of the fishermen's guilds of the community and researchers from the university who intervened in the detection and control of the spill. Also reflected are the opinions of experts in maritime safety and those responsible for the environmental groups that managed the work of volunteers in Cantabria.
- "Ciaboga. Ziaboga", is a documentary about the world of traineras in the Cantabrian Sea. It deals with the history of traineras in general, although focusing on everything from the 1940s to the present day. During Almost Three years the team was supported by abundant and interesting archival material, the result of intense research. It has a wide range of participations, both men and women, who are part of the world of rowing. The documentary lacks a voice-over based solely on the oral memory of the witnesses. The main objective of the project is to study in depth the human and cultural aspects of the history of the traineras in the Cantabrian Sea and not only the sporting aspect. The work also counts on the contribution of the new generations, both men and women, because another of the aspirations of the documentary is to bear witness to the incorporation of women into the world of rowing from the competition. The documentary gathers the testimonies of several rowers since the 1940s who won the main rowing competitions, teaching the technique of rowing on the high seas. It explains the bets, the female oar, the origin of the oar, the skippers, the celebrations, the technique, the boats and the regattas in Santander, Bilbao and San Sebastian, with old images of all the testimonies collected. A tour of rowing in Galicia, the Basque Country, Asturias and Cantabria, with testimonies of the protagonists in each of these regions. Recorded in Portugalete, San Sebastián, Pedreña, Castro, Soto del Barco, Santander...
