Es sind die 80er Jahre in West-Berlin; eine faszinierende Jugendkultur entwickelt sich in der Stadt, in der es weder eine Sperrstunde noch Grenzen zu geben scheint - obwohl sie eine meterhohe Mauer umgibt. Am Bahnhof Zoo - dem Zentrum West-Berlins - herrscht das Elend vor. Hier verbringen Drogensüchtige ihren Alltag, viele davon noch Kinder. Christiane F. ist eines davon. Sie erzählt zwei Journalisten ihre Geschichte. Schonungslos und ungeschönt. Das Buch wird ein Bestseller und kurz darauf wird daraus der erfolgreichste Film der 80er Jahre entstehen. Dem Spielfilm gelingt mit seiner radikalen Bildsprache und modernen Dramaturgie eine Rezeption bis ins Heute. Die Dokumentation geht der Frage nach, wie die Geschichte von einem Mädchen, das sein Leben an Drogen und Sex verliert, ein Meilenstein in Literatur und Kino werden konnte, und zeichnet den damaligen Zeitgeist nach. Nie zuvor veröffentliche Casting-Aufnahmen und Stimmen von einem Großteil der damaligen Crew wie dem Regisseur Uli Edel, dem Drehbuchautor Herman Weigel, dem Produzenten Hans Weth und dem Darsteller Thomas Haustein erzählen von den schwierigen Bedingungen bei den Dreharbeiten, von der Mitwirkung David Bowies und dem Umgang mit dem Erfolg.

The girl Anna Barbara can no longer take it. She secretly goes looking for the rag collector who the mayor's wife believes has stolen the golden thaler. In the forest Anna Barbara meets the rag collector Hans Geiz. The bony old man actually owns the thaler. However, he only wants to give it to Anna Barbara if she puts herself in his service. So she accompanies him into his subterranean labyrinth, where Hans Geiz has collected tons of junk. First he leads her into a room full of copper dishes and tells her to clean everything up. But the water is lazy and the work can hardly be done. Alone in the room, a man unexpectedly appears to her who promises to help her clean if she will marry him in return. In a community of convenience, the two team up with the aim of one day leaving the underworld. Next, Anna Barbara is supposed to polish a chamber full of silverware. She also manages this task together with the cleaning man. Finally, Hans Geiz leads Anna Barbara into a chamber of innumerable gold coins, which is also said to contain the golden thaler. Anna Barbara busily cleans the thalers with the cleaning man and can't find the golden one. Finally she discovers it in a chunk of bread and believes she has reached her destination. But she overlooked the fact that the cleaning man was completely exhausted. Now, when she threatens to lose her boyfriend, she admits her love. Then the thaler crumbles to dust and the cleaning man turns back into the boy Stefan. Anna Barbara returns to the village with her sweetheart Stefan. She makes it clear to the residents that the taler was a curse and a blessing at the same time, because the wealth it had given them cooled their care and love and made them lame and lazy. Hans Avarice is left alone with his junk.

It looks at the impact of the Letters without Signature series on both the letter writers in East Germany - who faced jail if discovered - and the producers of the show in London, particularly its mysterious presenter, Austin Harrison. Using never-before-seen Stasi files and recordings, London Calling: Cold War Letters documents the tit-for-tat propaganda war between the Stasi and BBC. It reveals a fascinating world of spies, secret state subterfuge and individual acts of bravery.

All of them being more mystical creatures than real punks. This movie reveals how little the colorful East Berlin punk-scene had in common with the one-dimensional aesthetic of its western counterpart. The uniqueness, authenticity and offhandedness of this subculture was impressive.

Despite high-tech intensive care and immense personal dedication, the staff repeatedly come up against the limits of their human abilities. They are confronted with a completely new disease that can damage the entire body and defies tried and tested therapies. Time and again, the experienced doctors and nurses have to accept the inevitable and let their patients go. At the end of a long shift, this can often feel like a defeat - and leaves its mark on those who remain.
