- Two trains uncontrollably move towards each other within temporal boundaries of a human life. One of them is taking a genial young man to his unforeseen future; he would marry his beloved; have a son; become a brilliant doctor; do his duty and save the live of enemies of the communist regime; get a 20-years sentence for that. Prison would turn out to be an unbearable nightmare; his wife would eventually give in to the tortures of the authorities and seek divorce; this would mean no one to visit him in prison. 15 years without any news about his child, only a snapshot of his family on which the tree of them are smiling and happy.
- The film is devoted to the 50th anniversary of the saving of the Bulgarian Jews from Nazi genocide. The author looks in on the lives of three of his contemporaries: Simon Versano - a 38-year-old photographer; Abraham Behar - a 79-year-old rabbi; Iossif (Joseph) Surchadzhiev -a 49-year-old actor. The structure resembles three shorts united by the leitmotif of the preservation of human dignity in spite of life's vicissitudes.
- The story begins with a prayer. And it ends with a prayer. The first one is a prayer to God. The second - to the Devil. Between the two prayers is Pavel - a talented, chaotic and irresponsible musician and composer. Everything is wonderful until the day he realizes he has lost the girl he loves. In order to win her love back, Pavel is ready to do anything - even pray to the Devil. When one prays to God, one relies on His mercy. When one prays to the Devil, this is a deal. You can ask for whatever you want and you have to offer something in exchange. And there is only one pawn in the Devil's game...
