A great show. Shame there was only 1 season as you always get your money's worth with Jack Palance. This series is available on Warner Archives. The sound isn't great on the first 3 episodes but the rest are fine.

A very deep and hard going arty film. In my opinion Brando only made a handful of entertaining films, this ain't one of them. I've been putting off watching this for years, having just viewed it I can see why. Brandos dialogue, what little there is, is muffled and extremely hard to understand. Would he really be a major teaching young officers tactics in a classroom when his dialogue is so illegible, sometimes Brando can be so hard going that you can lose interest in films he is in. The Filipino servant of Julie Harris is just unbelievably annoying especially his voice.the other thing that is jarring is the almost sepia picture- way too arty for its own good.About the best thing about this movie is the gorgeous and sexy Elizabath Taylor.

Hoodlum empire is a considerably better film than the other reviews here would have you believe. I have just watched it courtesy of an olive films blu ray and I must say I enjoyed it. It's quite a low budget film but it has some great moments. John Russell is the main character and I must admit it's the first film I've seen that he has such a big part, he's a little wooden for sure but he's not too bad in this film. The plot tells he story of a gangster who during ww2 changes into a decent person and wants to start afresh but legit. But the mob try everything to pull him back. Underrated film I think that deserves Wider appraisal.

This Is one of my favourite westerns. What a cast! Glenn Ford plays his role In his usual mild, controlled but firm manner. Ford plays one of the smaller ranchers In the shadow of the mighty anchor ranch that wants to swallow up the whole territory. Edward G Robinson plays the crippled patriarch of the anchor ranch and Barbera Stanwyck plays his sly scheming wife. There Is plenty of action In this western that Is quite Impressive, the scenery Is delicious and the letterbox scope photography Is breath taking and the soundtrack Is stereo! I would say that this western had a size-able budget It looks expensive. One of a series of great Glenn Ford westerns.

I enjoyed this western. Victor Mature played a good part. The scenery Is fantastic. I listened with headphones on because I discovered the soundtrack Is stereo- quite something for a western In 1955! Ann Bancroft looks nothing like she looked In the Graduate no where near as sexy! This western Is not run of the mill at all, most of the scenes are Inside a military fort or shot on location. Mature Is a trapper turned military scout trying to prevent a glory-mad Colonel from attacking the Indians as It would mean a massacre of the whole fort. Robert Preston plays the colonel who Is constantly at loggerheads with Mature. All in all a very entertaining western.

A fine western that was better than I expected It to be.Alan Ladd, although sometimes wooden puts In a good performance here. The cinematography and the colour process of this movie are outstanding. This western has a few good plot twists to make It stand out.The location scenery Is stunning too. Alan Ladd has something of a mystery persona here not unlike his role In Shane. The colours In this movie are very vivid and lifelike not at all garish as I thought they might be. This western has good support acting too, Charles Bickford plays his part with ruthless relish ala Big country. Robert Keith Is a shady slime ball who's demise In the film Is very fitting. This Is an out and out satisfying western and one I can thoroughly recommend.

The Western Is my favourite genre, but how I was disappointed by this movie. Audie Murphy In my opinion was better suited In a supporting role alongside a movie heavyweight such as Burt Lancaster In the Unforgiven. This film Is terrible, low production values and a made for t.v look and feel. You see Audie for all of 5 minutes and that Is the only value to the film. The rest of the actors are useless, my local am-dram club has better hams! I was hoping for a good movie with director Budd Boetticher at the helm but alas It Is a stinker! The worst western I have ever seen! The main character played by You've NEVER HEARD OF HIM BEFORE OR SINCE Richard Lapp gets my vote for the worst haircut ever!
