Condor's Nest (2023)
wildly entertaining
It had its flaws, but overall the movie was highly entertaining. Fans of aviation enthusiasts will appreciate the big opening scene with the B17 bomber. The movie makers used the plane "texas raiders" (RIP) to shoot those scenes which offered a lot of authenticity you don't usually see in war movies.
Arnold vosloo and michael ironside are standouts in this, though i wish was saw them more often.
Jacob keohane is solid
al pagano and corinne britti play great supporting characters and i am surprised not to have seen them in other stuff.
Biggest issue to me is this movie is about the "condor's nest" yet we barely see the condor's nest throughout the film, only some scenes outside at the very end. Kind of a let down.
Altogether a well put together movie, not particularly memorable but a fun way to burn a couple hours.

Point Man (2018)
See it for the Hueys!
Saw the Hueys and had to pick this one up. Bird Nerds will love it! Lots of Huey footage across the film, looks like they had a few live ones flying in. Lots of interior footage too. Wish they'd gotten some cockpit shots, really wish they'd had an advisor tell them to get the colonel out of the pilot's seat if he isn't flying the aircraft !!
One LZ looks like it could be Tara Field, a little digging shows the producers worked with the Georgia AAHF and that skyline looks familiar. How they got a Huey over to Cambodia for the rest of it I'll never know. Can't find those with OD green outside of the Philippines. Thailand maybe?
Entertaining flick, watch it for the birds. Music to my ears when they come in.
