This is a great comedy-drama that we both loved. Gabrielle Miller is awesome. There are some weak links in the rest of the cast (it is mostly an ensemble type show with a lot of characters getting a lot of story time each), but mostly the acting is average to better than average. Decent writing. I would say it is actually more of a drama with comedy elements than vice versa, but definitely worth watching, just don't expect it to be hilarious because it is more about the characters with just some comedy sprinkled in.

The Kids Like This One
8 February 2019
This seems to me like it would have been made for younger kids based on the design, animation etc but my kids who are in their mid and late teens now both enjoy this show a lot. As an adult I don't hate it either, we can actually sit through it and be somewhat entertained. A lot of that is just the entertainment of seeing the girls argue about the show with each other but still, most kids shows are not sit through-able.

The Kids Loved It

I don't get it but I'm not supposed to get or like shows made for kids. I know the kids liked this one when it was on (2011 or so) and they missed it when it was gone. Haven't seen it rerun at all so I'm assuming it'll be hard to track down. Just checked and it's not available on YouTube or anything. Recommended though if you have kids or up to young teens.

I do like the premise and want to like the show and characters but just everything about this show seems wrong. Like it was poorly done, or done quickly or without any experience or something. Like is is a film school project instead of a real professional TV show. I hope it improves.

This show is terrible. The writing is awful and even worse than that is the acting, particularly from the show's producer/creator/star and son of an actual star Dan Levy, who is supposed to be playing a teenager....
Wait for real this hairy fug-faced dwarf is supposed to be a teenager? Yup....
Dan Levy is so over the top he probably arrives on set every day inside a can of ham. All of his jokes are unoriginal and rely on flaming gayness. On top of the fact he lacks any talent as a performer and writer (if he actually writes for this show) he's also automatically dis-likable because of the simple fact he's done nothing, isn't remotely famous, but apparently was handed a TV series because of who his dad and his dad's friends are? With Canadian tax dollars funding this? What?
The fish out of water thing has been done to death and done much better, including the "rich person suddenly becomes poor" variety. I mean even the remake of Overboard is a billion times better.
One of the worst Canadian comedy series I have seen and I don't care what the positive reviewers here say, frankly I think it's obviously a lot of these are either purchased or written by homers of the show. Seriously it is in the conversation with Little Mosque, Trouble with Tracy, Package Deal, Double Exposure, XPM and other such stool samples.
I get how it got to be on TV in the first place (nepotism) but how on earth did it stay on the air and why is this garbage on Netflix?

Wow. This show is bad. Really bad. Just bad... awful in fact.
Nothing in this show is remotely funny. They're not even trying to do comedy any more, just riding a bus between cities in Europe and saying the f-word a lot. Swearing is fine if you're going to be funny, but JUST swearing is not funny at all.
I can see that "show" at my job every day around the water cooler, in the garage, in the smoking area, anywhere.
Very bad show.

For the Parents

This show is not so bad. It has a big audience it is just not an audience of young or hip people. My parents love the show and a lot of their friends watched it too. I don't have to like or watch it for it to be a "good" show, it obviously was very successful. Kind of what you'd expect for a country/Saskatchewan show full of dad jokes.
