Treadstone (2019)
Will go down as a classic in the genre.
I approached this with trepidation, how could they take the Ludlum's Bourne story world and deliver a quality TV Series? My fears were quickly forgotten this is a serious piece of televisual spy-thriller story telling. The writers and directors don't treat the viewer as simpletons and one really has to engage the old grey matter and engage with this throughout every scene. The over arching story is interlaced with numerous sub plots which intersect and cross at different times. The fight scenes and car/ foot chases are superbly done with the acting being excellent and the actors through some excellent casting believable in their respective roles. I really hope this is green lighted for a second season as it really deserves it.
Traces (2019)
Great Scottish based Police Forensic series
Set in Dundee, Scotland, great performances by the cast. Keeps the viewer hooked until the end. Congratulations to Alibi for commissioning and producing such a high quality production in Scotland. The University of Dundee is the home to a world famous Forensic Anthropology degree and Masters programme. Initially led by Professor Sue Black a world renowned expert in human remains identification. The Dundee accent is missing but that does not detract from the enjoyment and overall experience of the show and in reality very few non-Dundonians can carry off a Dundonian accent convincingly. Well worth a watch.
