Silent Night (I) (2021)

A horror comedy that's neither funny nor scary
8 December 2021
I love a good horror, comedy, and holiday movie, so I figured this supposedly being all three would be great. Wrong all the way around, this was not at all what I was expecting. It was one of the slowest, most boring movies I've ever watched, almost every character was just awful, and the whole thing just ended up being depressing as hell. Absolutely will not ever watch this again. Also, the "shock" at the end my husband called pretty early into the movie.

Decent sitcom

Despite the laugh track and the fact that I am not in any way a NASCAR fan, I enjoyed it. It's not the most wonderful show I've ever seen, but going in with the notion that it's a corny Kevin James sitcom it delivered exactly what I expected it to. I enjoyed the whole pit crew, Beth is adorable, and the driver was kind of a dummy but he had some funny lines.

Cute Sandler family movie
30 October 2020
Sandler's newer movies on Netflix have been hit or mostly miss for me, so I was hesitant to watch Hubie. But we sat down as a family and gave it a shot and we didn't regret it. We know to expect ridiculous humor, silly childish jokes, and fairly predictable storylines from him and that's exactly what we got. I loved all of the Halloween aspects and set designs, the storyline was cute, my kids laughed a lot and my husband and I laughed a few times too. A lot of people are ragging on Sandler's voice, which sure is kind of annoying, but it's far from making the movie unwatchable for me. If you're looking for an Oscar worthy movie you've come to the wrong place. But if you're looking for a cute, silly movie the family could enjoy, give it a shot.

Good for what it is

If you're looking for a cinematic revelry you're watching the wrong movie. But as far as a teenager rom com goes I thought it was a good sequel. It deals with some real life issues, shows positive opposite sex friendships and advocates same sex romantic relationships. Are scenarios played out in unrealistic ways? Sure. It's a movie. But I'm a 34 year old woman and I enjoyed watching it with my teenaged daughter. I can say I would have eaten this up as a teenager myself.

It has potential

I enjoyed the two episodes that are out. I wouldn't say it's must see TV but I still found it entertaining. The premise of average parents trying to handle genius children is pretty original and I love Jason Biggs and Maggie Lawson as the parents. I think if given the chance it could become a good show. Definitely will continue to watch to see what happens.

Great ending for a great show!

Warning: Spoilers
I was not expecting to cry when I watched this. The ending wasn't quite what I had imagined but it was so much better. I really hope Hopper is "the American" in that Russian cell. I also really liked how they humanized Billy with his backstory and had him help to save El. I'm very curious to see how the end the show with season 4 and where the take the story with the Byers' clan plus Eleven being elsewhere.
