The Curse (2023)
Ok start. Quit by Episode 4.
Like staring at a pile of damp towels, this series went nowhere and only got worse with time. I genuinely tried to give it a fair chance, but tapped-out at the painfully dull conclusion of episode 4. Yes, there were a few interesting storyline tidbits and brief moments of solid humor along the way, but I had to to the merciful thing and put 'The Curse' to sleep.
One bothersome, recurring flaw with the program was the endless dragging of scenes, which seemed to exist only to fill / satisfy a time requirement. It felt like brevity wasn't even a consideration, and the show's few entertaining moments were lost in a sea of boring fluff. Some great actors in here (Safdie rulz!), and I know they're capable of outstanding work, but unfortunately it just didn't happen here.
Red Rocket (2021)
Now one of my top three funniest movies
1. Napoleon Dynamite
2. Dinner In America
3. Red Rocket.
This film deserves massive credit for having such tremendous b@lls. How they even got away with making Red Rocket in today's world of the chronically offended is beyond me. Absurd, raw, and ridiculously funny!
Encounter (2021)
This was REALLY good!
Interesting storyline, darn good acting, cool effects, and strong attention to detail. This was REALLY good, and as a former Force Recon guy myself, I really dug SOF / veteran aspects of the film.
Don't listen to the snobby 'wine & cheese' movie critics. Just watch it and enjoy!
Midnight Mass (2021)
Forced and Cringeworthy
Always painful watching soft, cutesy Hollywood actors bludgeoning their way through portraying working, faith-based, rural characters. They may be skilled at ordering a lavender soymilk latte, but where the yoga mats and pavement ends, so does the credibility.
Like trying to eat a rubber chicken, this just isn't credible or convincing.
Ojing-eo geim (2021)
Those revolvers
...would have been more intimidating if their cylinders had been loaded!
Dinner in America (2020)
SXXT-YOUR-PANTS FUNNY!
This movie is beyond hilarious. Hsnds-down, one of the funniest films I've ever seen.
I Care a Lot (2020)
DETESTABLE CHARACTERS
Can't remember so wanting so much to see a movie character get smoked! The moment I saw my boy from 'Blue Ruin', I knew ol' Marla wound end-up wearing a bullet, correctly guessing exactly how the movie would end.
Well done!
PS: Synthy soundtrack kicks ass!
The Lighthouse (2019)
Magnificent! An Immediate Horror Classic
Unique story, great cinematography in grim B&W, awesome acting, and amazing dialog. Dafoe and Pattison were terrific in conveying the ongoing dread.
The end was open to interpretation, but I still loved it.
A must-see for the sophisticated horror buff looking for something different.
Dave Chappelle: Sticks & Stones (2019)
LEGENDARY STANDUP
F##k your feelings, snowflakes!
This was the the greatest standup set I've ever seen, and a direct blow back at all the weaklings who've tirelessly tried to ruin comedy with their endless 'ist' and 'phobe', finger-wagging garbage.
Chappelle rules!
Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)
SUCKED. WALKED-OUT.
After about 45 minutes of being clobbered by boring, predictable CGI and preachy enviro-lecturing, I walked-out on this stinker. Would rather be home doing something more exciting (like laundry), than enduring this gargantuan waste of time. Sucked!
Amy Schumer: Growing (2019)
HOW CAN THIS BE HAPPENING AGAIN?!
Netflix must be entwined in some sort of mutually assured destruction pact with this painfully unfunny, burned-out lump. Wasn't the first sinking of the USS Schumer 'comedy special' the reason Netflix had to detonate their entire rating system?
I'm not just 'throwing rocks' here. Like Malcolm McDowel in 'A Clockwork Orange', with his eyelids mechanically pryed open, I forced myself to watch 'Amy Schumer Growing' and had to stop myself from leaping from my rooftop only minutes in to this awful disaster.
GIVE IT UP, NETFLIX! There's nothing you can do to make us want this tripe.
The Walking Dead (2010)
Garbage
How does anyone over 3 years old find this burned-out rubbish scary, let alone entertaining? The 'zombie greats' of Night of the Living Dead, Day of the Dead, 28 Days Later, etc are smothered beneath the steaming, childish dung heap of TWD.
Do humanity a favor and KILL THIS Shi##y series once and for all!
Black Mirror: Bandersnatch (2018)
Amazing work!
I'm already a massive Black Mirror fan, but this one takes the cake. Great creativity and execution. The "What is Netflix" part was hilarious.
A MUST SEE!
Halloween (2018)
ABSOLUTE GARBAGE
Not a single scary moment in this childish, dopey, and predictable piece of absolute garbage. Not only the worst film I saw in 2018, this steaming heap is one of the worst films I've suffered in my lifetime.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Green Book (2018)
Absolutely gorgeous film
Although I was expecting predictable, SJW BS, 'The Green Book' was anything but. Gorgeous film which knocked me flat on my a$$! A must-see masterpiece!
