Moonfall (2022)
Fun and partly silly
If you're a fan of disaster flicks, like 2012, Armageddon, and Independence Day, where many cities get blown up and destroyed in wonderful ways, you have to see Moonfall! It's quite a bit more watchable than you'd guess from the lame IMDB score. In fact, it even has a plot! It has a cameo by Donald Southerland, and stars Halle Berry and others.
Yes, it has silly bits, some scenes will get a laugh, particularly when the conspiracy theory group meets to figure out how to save the world. But I won't spoil it for you! This movie doesn't take itself too seriously, and it's fun. Science fiction deserves to goof on itself now and then, and this is one of those times!
Vote Jesus: The Chronicles of Ken Stevenson (2009)
Fascinating and Real
This film is funny, but in a painful way, because a lot of those people are awfully familiar to those I knew growing up. I saw the film at the Premiere in Manchester, New Hampshire. Sadly, it has not been distributed widely. See the film if you can, it shows a face of Performance Artist Vermin Supreme (yes, that's his real name!) that is the man at his best. Vermin brings out the wackiness of those he interviews in a kind way, and lets them do the talking.
