Messiah (2020)
Should be shorter and more thought out
It started extremely strongly for me and I was tempted to give it 10 stars on the spot. However, around the fifth episode things slowed down significantly and the story got very much lost.
The entire plot is not worth ten hours but six in my opinion. The end is not satisfying. But still an enjoyable series
The Most Hated Woman in America (2017)
Solid
If you interested in the case I would encourage you to see it. It is by no means a masterpiece or groundbreaking but it does keep you entertained and has solid performances.
Tenet (2020)
The inception trap
Nolan does the Inception tactic again by using a convoluted story which nobody wants to admit they don't get it so everyone praises his work.
The acting was really disappointing too.
If you don't like Inception I really discourage you from seeing it.
Greenland (2020)
Pleasant surprise
I must say this movie was way better than what I expected. I am afraid it won't succeed as much due to COVID.
But on the other hand it is kind of a good timing. The everyone-for-himself attitude depicted in Greenland is very much what we have seen so far in this crisis.
For a Misanthrop like me a perfect movie.
1917 (2019)
Almost perfect
I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. It is just a feast for the eyes. I have only two critical points here:
1. There is little to no character development.
2. The portrayal of the Germans is too stereotypical and seems to confuse WWI with WWII
21 Bridges (2019)
Pleasantly surprised
Much better than what I expected. I likes especially the cinematography remenicisent of 90's action classics such as ""the fugitive".
Having said that, the movie is of course not a classic itself and might be quickly forgotten but it gives you good entertainment that you want to see after a week of work. No identity politics or political statements here. Just having a good time.
Notre Dame (2019)
Better to avoid
The movie starts decently and the acting is confident but then it turns into a non-sensical slapstick flick that makes you wonder what you are watching exactly.
The plot is all over the place and therefore you start at one point to not relate to anything that is happen to the protagonists anymore.
This movie should definitely be avoided.
