Ted (2024)
9/10
Seth MacFarlane hits another home run, again.
11 January 2024
I'm excited to see Seth reuiniting with Scott "Gordan" Grimes, Penny "Dr. Finn" Jerald and Giorgia "Lysella" Whigham from "The Orville" which IMO was prematurely canceled. It's the same type of humor from that show, Family Guy, American Dad, Ted and Ted 2 and so if you're a fan of those it's probably safe to say that you'll enjoy this one as well. Hiring Max Burkholder to portray the character of John Bennett was such a brilliant move and he's pulled the role off to perfection. He sounds exactly like a young Mark Wahlberg would have sounded with the Boston accent and quick witted humor. The entire cast have great chemistry together and it doesn't hurt that they are all naturally funny people.

This is "reality TV" at it's finest! Not.

Yeah so I was born in Homer, Alaska in 1984 and I'm related to the Kilcher's through marriage, Eivin Kilcher was a grade below me in High School and Atz was my music teacher in Elementary School but long story short this show is 100% fake because they can always just drive into town witch is only 10 miles away but instead they make it seem like they have to "rough it" which is not only a total lie but it's embarrassing for Alaska and especially for those who grew up and still live in Homer. Jewel the "singer" bailed on Alaska and their family is making bank off of being dishonest and if I could rate it 0 stars I would because that's how hilariously stupid and pointless this show is, you should avoid unless you're into fantasy!

Black Bird (2022– )

Great acting but ended too abruptly for my tastes.

The acting is strong all around with the standout being Paul Walter Hauser who displays the perfect tone and emotion, it's a compelling story that holds your attention completely but unfortunately it's just too short and felt rushed towards the end, it deserved at least another two more episodes.

Players (2022)

This is a great concept.

I'm a huge longtime fan of e-Sports in general and I've played League of Legends so I might have a stronger connection to this particular genre but the over the top dialog and making fun of the way some professional players and CEO's live and act was parody 101. The organization itself "Fugitive Gaming" is a parody of teams like Team SoloMid and FaZe Clan, with the internal conflicks and drama on full display through a mockumentary-style direction which I thought was a great avenue to showcase an underappreciated yet still growing sport.

Mixed bag.

The show has some amazing set pieces, the cinematography is top notch and the production value is definitely there but with the lack of a coherent story or one that jives with the comics, unlikable characters that come no where close to even Rebels quality and the seemingly endless plot holes that often times go directly against Star Wars canon, is the result of bad writers working for a company that lacks spirit and has way too much money.

Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023)

How times have changed!

Season 1 was fine it wasn't ground breaking Sci-Fi nor did it advance the Star Trek Universe in any meaningful way but yet it did have some charm, great set pieces and a few solid action sequences so I would probably give it a 7/10. Season 2 on the other hand has gone full-blown social justice warrior mode leaning heavily into Politics from blaming global warming for the downfall of human society to demonizing ICE officers making them out to be racist thugs who enjoy hurting people which is a complete and total fabrication and it should NOT be a part of Star Trek, period.

Foundation (2021– )
10/10
You'll enjoy this unless you've read the books than you might cry!
19 November 2021
Well first off I just wanted to point out that most of the negative reviews are from fans of the book series and yeah I get that but Game of Thrones if you read the books changed large plot points yet it still turned out to be a great show albeit the final two seasons were a mess as a whole the show had groundbreaking production, interesting storylines with great acting! Don't not give Foundation a chance only because some people are upset that it's not 110% faithful to the books and I can guarantee that "The Wheel of Time" will have the same exact issue.. the bottom line is if you enjoyed any iteration of Dune or Blade Runner and it's sequel than you'll already be accustomed to the long drawn political mystery thriller and I'm telling you now that Foundation has solid acting, very high production value and the story is top notch IMO.
