Ms. Marvel (2022)
9/10
Funny first episode
11 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Only the first episode but so far it is the same Kamala as the comics, other than the way her powers work. Her family especially her mum are mostly same too which I'm glad for I enjoyed that dynamic. Her friends are the same too Bruno and Kiki. I'm looking forward to this version of her powers explored more as it does look like there is a history hinted at by her mum in this episode.

Almost as confused as protagonist, in a good way

A chaotic first episode but super fun and with lots to unpack I definitely looking forward to finding out more in future episodes. May have to brush up on my Egyptian mythology just to see what marvel changes though.

Better than I was expecting
27 July 2021
I'll start by saying the first episode does starts boring, there isn't really a hook other than the nostalgia of rote He-man vs Skeletor. It doesn't become interesting until the end of the episode but what happens is what will likely people off. All I can say without spoiling is please give the show a chance. The season end payoff is amazing.

Dragon Rider (2020)

Funny and beautiful
14 February 2021
This movie was clearly making a parody of how to train your dragon and used a lot of that in both the early story and visual jokes. I found the chemistry with both the protagonists and antagonists really funny. As well as many of the side characters' lines. All the character designs are amazing and unique, I especially liked the old dragon's design. Throughout the movie there were blink and you'd miss it visual gags to many films and tropes and it was all and all a fun film that managed to stay lighthearted when dealing with rather dark themes.

So bad it was funny
14 January 2020
This is a case of so bad it's funny, it's issues are so very obvious that joking together about them becomes a bonding experience. The CGI is archaic and make the characters silly even in serious scenes. The story was either predictable or disjointed often both, to the point you basically yell at the characters to use their brains. The voice acting at least in the English version had horrible lipsinc and dumb lines, the princess also sounded like she was trying to be snow white but instead was just annoying. And they were just lazy with the queen, they didn't even try to explain that All in all a horrible movie, the dragon tried his best though, sometimes dragons just can't save something.

Better than I was expecting
15 October 2018
It was actually well done, people had been complaining about it so I guess I was expecting something batman and robin cheesy or with really bad effects but instead it was well choreographed, CGI was well blended, and the acting was great. It also has little nods to the comics like Kori's name and Dicks job, which I liked, and it did the circus scene way better than batman forever. Actually Dick was just plain better than the batman forever version... which isn't that hard but still.
