Soldiers Three; or, When Scotch Soldier Laddies Went in Swimming (1911)
A Poor Performance and Development
This film had few moments. For a film from 1911, it receives only credit for its era. The actors weren't top notch, but then again it wasn't a grade A film. In reality, more like a grade D. I couldn't have relaxed and watched it on TCM. The title, fits perfectly with the film itself. Also, another low point is the fact that you do get bored of this film pretty quickly, because it recycles the same hodge-podge over and over. I promise you this film doesn't have any quality moments. You couldn't enjoy it even if you tried. It's full of low key sets and actors. I considered it to be trashy and full of out of the blue nonsense. I certainly wouldn't give this film more than one out of ten possible stars. For it to be top notch, you would have to have kicked back a couple of drinks.
The Cover Girl Murders (1993)
A Pretty Entertaining Tropical Thriller Flick
This film was a fairly decent tropical thriller. It has you on a one way street throughout the entire film. The very end has a unique twist, which surprising was pulled off well. I fairly enjoy tropical madness. The idea of being in paradise, where everything goes running amok, and people start to go insane, really can hit the senses sometimes. The film was developed well, because it pertained to the conflicts between the characters relationships with one another and the situation at hand. For an early 90's Yuppie soap/thriller, I found it entertaining. Plus, looking at all of those "cover girls" was excellent "eye candy", if you start to get bored of the film itself.
