Industry: Daddy (2022)
Great on "How to understand the impact of corona on mental health"
Industry, is show that's particularly based on 'real life'. So I'm glad, that unlike some other projects, as Succession, they've decided to keep the Corona Virus as a factor in the narrative. Leeding leading to Harpen's mental health getting worse.
Harpen is always an interesting character. The post-pandemic depressive and antisocial approach was a great choice of approach for a character who has so many personal issues to solve. But, it does it has the problem as others drama shows of HBO, like in Euphoria. The only characters that seem find any confront in to their psyches are the ones we are sometimes least interested in seeing, I must say - Kenny.
Must be said: so sad to see David Jonsson and his character, Gus, not making into this season. For me, he was the type of character that also had a certain curiosity. Yet different way from the other characters. More intellectual, and less partying. Which was a great counterpoint to some of the narratives in season one.
Human Factors (2021)
It doesn't land
There's something in the air in the movie that don't follow up. You think things are getting more mysterious but they don't go that way. But it's was a very good approach of the storytelling line that keeps coming back to certain points of the narrative the keep me going, just wish the whatever where it's was should have been landed in the end but it just so vague, more then normal for these indie movies.
Kimi (2022)
it's good but it should take us further
Overall, the film spends a good deal of time explaining its premise, which is quick to understand so it shoudnt haven't used a lot of time on It. The main issue for me is, the whole motive of the character making a decision to change her situacion, just disappears at the end of the movie, and you have no idea what really happened.
The most important elements about the character, about the drama of what she heard, were not presented.
HUGE BUT! BUT WAS still pretty good to watch. Questioning the good and bad sides of being heard by tech, and seeing some retractions of social anxiety (which I also have).
And this movie looks quite like The Woman in the Window.
