How to Be a Cowboy (2021)
10/10 - Big Names and Lots of Fun
LOVE this show. The content is funny while being informative. Excellent representation of the cowboy culture and the big hitters in the rodeo world. Loved the addition of Trevor Brazil and the Cameron's. 100% worth a watch and like. Hope there are more seasons to come!
The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two (2020)
It drags on forever
The first movie was adorable. This one was just tedious & at times very violent. It gets very annoying & redundant. The only redeeming quality is Goldie. She was great.
Captain Marvel (2019)
Good - but lacking details
I thought this movie was good. Brie Larson does a fine job as Captain Marvel. Her wit is dry but she isn't boring by any means. Her characters perseverance is one of the best parts. She never gives up.
The action sequences are ok, but the filming felt sloppy & choppy. Made for difficult watching and came off as boring. They tended to end abruptly.
The biggest problem was not explaining exactly what the engine was that exploded, how it gave Carol such immense powers. Can she control matter, is that why she's essentially invincible? There are a lot of details that got skipped over in order to save time and get the whole scope of the story into 1 movie. Maybe this will all be answered later.
Tidelands (2018)
Watched the whole season in 1 night
Watched the first episode just to give it a try.....ended up bingeing the whole dang season! The end of every episode is a cliffhanger.
I thought the acting was pretty great & the characters were rich. Insane plot with a lot of possibilities to take it in the future.
Refreshing new take on the siren spin & a good, mythological show for Netflix.
The Australian base was fun too, different scenery than most Netflix shows.
I hope there's a season 2, I'll definitely be watching!
Legacies (2018)
Potential for more
I was skeptical watching this. Especially considering how it replaced Wayward Sisters in the CW lineup. But after watching the first few episodes, I have to admit that I am REALLY liking it!
Hope Mikaelson's acting has finally made an appearance. The fact that they are incorporating other legendary creatures is really interesting.
Landon's character is a mystery that is obviously going to be insane when the truth comes out.
I love seeing the old characters take on parental roles to the new ones.
So curious to see where this goes & hoping it continues to live up to it's predecessors!
Charmed (2018)
Just, no.
I loved the original Charmed and was disappointed to see the original cast not be supportive of the reboot. But now, I realize how right they were to criticize it from the beginning. Zero chemistry between characters, over the top acting, and the plot line is thrown in your face and rushed. Not to mention all of the political agendas shoved down your throat. It's just not good. Super disappointed. I had hoped to really like this one.
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
Absolutely enthralling!
Scary, but not so much that you need the lights on. Perfect amount of suspense and information in each episode to keep the viewer wanting more. Loved it! Binged the whole season in 2 days!
Lethal Weapon (2016)
Clayne was the 10 stars.......without him, I would rate it a 1 star.
Clayne Crawford MADE this show. Not only as the actor playing Riggs, but also because he was a driving mind behind a lot of the scenes. He's an artist dedicated to his profession and the art of filmmaking. Without him, scenes are going to be sub-par & half assed because Damon Wayans is lazy and entitled. Zero respect for the producers of Lethal Weapon and FOX network for the shady and crappy way they treated Clayne while pampering Damon.
Watch the first 2 seasons because they are fantastic. But don't waste your time after that.
Sierra Burgess Is a Loser (2018)
Casting wins - plot fails
I wish I could love this movie....it had so much potential to address so many issues teens face today. The outcome had me extremely disappointed. I expected so much more especially from the stacked cast!
Sierra is the LEAST likeable character. Her pity party and lack of respect for her friends is astounding. Then the fact that everything works out in the end is campy & frustrating since Sierra really didn't seem to learn a damn thing other than the fact that she's surrounded by amazing people she doesn't appreciate.
The acting was great. Jamey, Veronica, and Dan were super likeable and stole the show.
Insatiable (2018)
Fun filler show.
I think the drama surrounding this show is overrated. People need to chill & understand the message this show is actually trying to get across.
It's not a show I'm just dying to watch every night, but I do enjoy it when I do watch it. I wouldn't mind a season 2. It hits on a lot of uncomfortable topics & addresses them in a great way. It's not afraid to shed light on the things people never say....while keep an air of humor to it so it's not heavy.
If you're waiting for the new season of your favorite show to start, or stuck in a show rut, I'd recommend checking it out for sure.
