The White Lotus (2021)
How to destroy an outstanding tv show
Just a few words. Season 1 is amazing. Season 2 lost the.naturalness, the richness of the conflicts, reduced the conflicts, keeps always on the same issues along the episodes, it's like you wasn't watched anything, and I know the last episode, not yet aired, won't.remedy the first six episodes. I think they tried to make a disturbing or uncomfortable show, but they couldn't in this season 2. I don't know what changed. When it becomes explicit instead of subtle, as in season 1, it turns evident that makers/writers/whoever lost the.spark. I know that second parts are never better than first ones, but this is almost a fraud.
Marcella (2016)
Bitter-sweet
I like the character, and the whole show in general terms. But I think it's not fair that the rest of crimes are "not connected". I'm tired of TV shows that vomit conflicts everywhere without closing or relating it. In addition, I don't like that the crimes (S01 and S02) are always around Marcella's personal life. Finally, the ending scene of S02, is a tricky twist to start the S03... a season that I dont'k know if I'm going to watch it. Sorry
La Cordillera (2017)
Boring, no sense, inocuous
Nice shots and landscapes. But nothing happens. An extremely SLOW, BORING movie. Naïve presidents scripts and gestures... etc. I was encouraged to see the it by the comments of Kutchevasky (producer). It looked interesting to me that time. But there is not thrill neither suspense, no plot. It's less accomplished than a joke.
White Noise (2005)
very scary
I don't know why it has just 5.5/10 points.... I saw the movie on vacations, a dark night, I began to hear noises everywhere, my god, what a moment. For me the movie paid what it promises: it promises fear, so you get fear. Perhaps the context has much to do, I don't know. The characters are believable, and I found it very well conceived
Mulholland Dr. (2001)
5 stars for me
I think Naomi did a great performance, the aesthetics of the movie is very singular. But you don't need to make a mess. Bests artworks (in a general sense) are actually simple. I'm not judge the characters neither the director, or the movie, but the story itself, it lacks some sagacity for creating an original, untold movie. Nothing new under the sun. Or you take outer resources, with implicit complexity, or you must create that resources, or both things. Complexity without resources are like "culteranism". Lynch hand really resemble that of Hitchcock's. Movie sustain the thrill all along. But make no sense if you can't revisit it mentally ("memoristically") for clues as soon as it ends. The effect on public will blur. That's all I think. I'm not an expert
Prisoners (2013)
unlimited tension
wow, a lot of time without seeing a movie like that. I finished exhausted because of the two and a half hours of pure tension. Maybe the dramatic overload of a developing kidnapping is the great hook for sustain the tension and interest for so much time. However I think the performances, the unexpected, help. I think an interesting thing is the way the characters acquire and manage information. The dosage of information seems carefully designed. The detective, the captain, the reaction of Mr Dover, etc, are far from clichés. I've experienced how the characters were confused and desperate like me, and that was possible (I think) thanks to the way the movie deliver information. No geniuses unveiling facts, characters are like people, they have hits and misses, very realistic. I liked the movie
The Signal (2014)
a waste of time
really, the movie does not explicit that "so relevant mankind socio-philosophical claim" I've read on the subject "What The Signal is about?" no clues, arbitrary, random, without explanations, linear, flat it's just like Lost, all the arbitrary staff, and after 1 hour 30 min you see no justification of nothing, really: there is no story when the movie ends, it's like passing the page, "well, come on, we better go for an ice cream", it's like you has been watching through the window on a subway, when you get to the station, you stand up, get out, and that's all ... I consider the movie very bad, I'm sorry, it will be added on my "worsts movies ever" list
Sábado (2001)
Extremely boring. Painful
Don't waste a second watching this crap. Extremely boring. A self referential movie. The character plays the real actor that is himself, as if he were a kind of devalued, Latin, John Malcovich's "Being John Malcovich". The best you can do is picking another Spanish movie, there are a lot with good content or at least entertaining. Don't waste a second watching this crap. Bad performances. Bad script. Everything's bad. So painful, that one just can't found much words to complete the 10 lines required to post a review. I'm almost reaching the 9th line, but I can tell you anymore, just take my advice and you will gain time and won't get a headache after watching this crap
Taking Chance (2009)
Very good
I like this kind of movies. Simple, sensitive. But it has the proper suspense to keep the interest and concentration. Very nice scenes, showing how both every day life and the war consequences go together. There are a very few dialogs, and there aren't a boring photography. There is everything in it's just measure or quota, no more nor less. With no overacting. I think it's great that they has filmed a movie like that, starting from that simple argument/idea. Congratulations, and thanks for this movie. (Please, take into account that i'm not a US citizen, i'm from Argentina, but this film produced a deep empathy on me)
