5th Passenger (2017)
Worthy
Did I enjoy it? Yes!
Did it entertain me? Yes!
The VFX are standard, the sets are standard, but the writing and characters were excellent and well defined. Great twist at the end. The main girl was good,... and she is surrounded by Star Trek Royalty. Armin Shimmerman steals the film a bit. Didn't think much of some of the actors, as their egos clearly got in the way, but the rest of the cast out-shines them. I would like to see more from this team of producers. A worthy story!
Logan (2017)
Perfect film!
Perfection in every frame. No spoilers here but Marvel should be making more stuff like this! Logan and professor X get old, but what poetry!!!!
Rogue Warrior: Robot Fighter (2016)
A sequel? A prequel? Anyone?
This seems to be part of a bigger universe, and I strongly suspect this is a prequel of sequel to an exisiting film. The character os Sienna reminds me a bit of Laura Croft meets the Terminator, in a messed up way. The film has an almost dread-like Star Wars feel, which brings it close to the David Lynch Dune universe. Someone obviously spent a lot of time developing the universe here, because of all the hidden gems that appear upon second viewing. Definitely in my top 1000 films, beyond that, time will tell if I like this film as much in a few years. Hoagland, the robot (named after Richard Hoagland) almost steals the show.
St. Elmo's Fire (1985)
Have we all aged???
At the time it was ground-breaking, and even though now it's not as impressive, the film, in it's time is still worthy of a solid 8 stars. Don't judge this film by today's standards, accept it for it's context.
