1899 (2022)
4 episodes in and still no clear storyline
The show is clearly trying to emulate the style of Dark, but it's simply dead in the water. Elements of intrigue seem very random and it looks very farfetched that they'll connect into somewhat convincing story. But above all- nothing is happening. Story progression is so slow there doesn't seem to be any. Sex scenes are completely out of place and feel very forced. Whereas Dark had multiple parallel storylines, 1899 has random fragments that might connect in the end, but for now I wonder is it worth the effort. Characters are somewhat bland and a bit hard to connect to, and the whole premise of using different languages is unconvincing as they seem to work very coherently despite not understanding each other.
Meltdown: Three Mile Island (2022)
Very uninformative "documentary"
For viewers expecting adequately accurate information like in "Chernobyl", this series is a complete letdown. It focused primarily on individual dramas among residents surrounding the facility, and very little attention of put on the nuclear event itself. In that meager amount of information there are some serious mistakes, be it accidentally or intentionally.
If you're interested in actual story, YouTube channel Plainly Difficult made a much better job on this and a lot of other events, i highly recommend seeing those and skipping this series entirely.
The only value of this series is acknowledging the incident to previously unaware, nothing more than that.
Ne gledaj mi u pijat (2016)
Remarkably realistic
Rare realistic depiction of a repressive family burdened with poverty.
Interaction between family members, but also neighbors, friends and coworkers and generally worse side of dalmatian mentality is spot on.
In reality Sibenik is a bit less depressing... But not by much.
Running Wild with Bear Grylls: Cara Delevingne in Sardinia Mountains (2019)
Incredibly reckless and dangerous
I only caught the last part of the episode, and as an alpine climber I couldn't believe how they performed the waterfall rappel.
I strongly discourage anyone from trying any "survival" technique performed by Bear Grylls, but this one takes the cake.
Potentially deadly decisions they made include:
-making a makeshift anchor out of wrench instead of tying rope around solid point, a tree or a stone.
-throwing the wrench in a pool and dragging it until it got stuck (no way to be sure it's solid).
-simul-rappeling instead of going one at a time.
-not using a prussik or any other kind of backup knot
Yes, I know everything is staged, but to cram so many potentially fatal mistakes and to show it on TV is beyond comprehension.
