Candy Cane Lane (2023)
Surprisingly charming
I thought this was going to be a" roll your eyes" Eddie Murphy movie. I was pleasantly surprised.
The special effects are different and interesting. The ornaments that were alive were quite fascinating. Even to the point of having luminescent skins
I thought the mother was point on, not the regular, pretty, ideal woman, but someone I could relate to. A little over the top, but not believable. I loved the family interaction, more delightful than I thought it would be.
Dare I say the 12 Days of Christmas coming alive made me laugh and the bad elf-what a hoot. A great interpretation of the character.
Midnight Mass (2021)
I walked into this blind.
I walked in blind.
I saw.
I was totally unprepared.
Wow. Amazing.
I couldn't understand where the dialogue came from, not the norm for horror film.
Not surprised when I found out it was Stephen King.
Night Sky (2022)
Unique and stunning acting
Okay. Spacek And Simmons are outstanding. Both characters are so broad in the the depth of personality. A joy to watch, beautiful and tender. Breathtaking to watch act.
Perhaps the most enjoyable for me was that there was such diversity in the cast. The bad guys, an interesting pair, came out of Argentina-clearly filmed on location-I've been there. Great to see something not on American soil but more world wide.
The "depression" segment handled excellent. Friend, Byron, a kick. Wish I could write as well as bospan, he/she nailed it. But I got my two cents in. Loved it.
Cosmos (2019)
What a fun ride!11
This is definitely a science nerd, special group club, flick. It even got a little campy towards the end but I liked that. I loved how the simple act of getting the data downloaded felt like me trying to make a flight. Fun, very fun-and I'm a chick. Hmmm-I wonder if that makes me a nerd???
So Dark (2016)
A different perspective on those bloody eaters.
I loved this show and was sad there weren't more episodes to see. There was a little campiness with the police officer and crackhead, they needed more time to develop the plot, but all and all-I Got a kick out of it and wanted to see more. I thought the short episodes were great.
The Vast of Night (2019)
Intriguing retro sci-fi
Call me the weird one, but this movie is trippy. Watching the story go in and out of drone photography, blackouts, black and white to color was fascinating. The director made it work, the acting was intriguing, watching the teenage girl scurry from place to place and all the charm of a trusting small town, well-it I loved it. Very unique.
The Boys (2019)
Unprepared for this one.
Okay. Wow. Went into this thinking this would be another silly comedy about superheros. I mean, look at the poster-the man with the laser eyes. The trailer was just as goofy. Mega surprised. I loved every character, binged on it, and came out of it wanting more.
A genuine surprise. Hoping for a second season.
Barry (2018)
Super Sleeper
Okay, the premise seemed interesting and I needed to see a comedy. What a sleeper! Episode after episode more intriguing, putting down layer after layer of complexity. A must watch.
