Love Is Blind (2020)
Huh
I don't think it was fake like some people thought.. but I couldn't help thinking.. were these people not around during AOL? I know that Jessica has to have been. But this same effect happens from online dating in general. If you've ever dated online, if you take too long to meet the person, you can form a bond really quickly.. then you meet up and maybe there were quirks you couldn't see via the phone. Often I thought we were both joking and witty just to find out they weren't joking the whole time.. and they were actually just kinda crazy.
Castle Rock: The Word (2019)
Last season
I liked this episode a lot, but I'm a fan of back story. I like the surprise at the end. Which I had guessed. However... this tells me that one whole episode from season 1 was made up purely for the purposes of misdirection. When it shows the life of the "other" Henry. That means none of that was real... doesn't upset me.. just weird that one whole episode was fake.
It Chapter Two (2019)
Cheesy
Major disappointment for me...got a five for the special effects, but even that was over done...most of the "funny" lines, nobody laughed at... there were just SO MANY cheesy moments.. so many that they kind of but together at this point... one thing did stick out in my mind though... when Eddie through the iron piece of fence at Pennywise.... into his mouth... and wounded him..... they just got done showing how there was not backnof his head and he was sort of sucking the dead lights through his head to effect Richie..... so... wouldn't it have flown through his head?? That part didn't actually bother me a lot... just found it funny. But... acting wasn't bad... just the script they were going off of. Pennywise's lines weren't even really that great.
Oh, and there were definitely some scenes where the CGI on the creatures just looked cartoonish... ie: fortune cookie scene when they first hop out of the bowl.. and then I think it was the scene with Pennywise's "daughter" when she changes form.
Not sure how the first half of this set was so good, and the second half was rubbish.
Funny tidbit though.... that's sort of how the original miniseries was... the kids did awesome, and the adults really didn't... but back then it really felt like it was the acting, this time it felt like it was the script.
