Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023)
The jokes are a little corny, it is far from great but it's still action packed and enjoyable
It wasn't the best superhero movie and it felt pretty rushed at times but, I guess that's better than the story dragging. There was certainky no point where the movie dragged or was boring.
Personally I would plhave preferred a more serious Aquaman the humour in this is corny as hell rather than refreshing and honestly a lot of the acting in this was pretty mediocre, but it didn't make the movie less watchable or enjoyable.
I feel like the story didn't get into the head of Black Manta enough, which made him a fairly boring and uninteresting villain.
Randall Park was his usual adorable self.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (2023)
Not turtley awesome, not a turtle disaster!
I grew up on TMNT! I have photos of me and my siblings holding turtle puppets, I remember pretending to be Mikey when you used to play turtles, so trust me I have a love for these characters! Also I am not a fan of Seth Rogan, but this movie was fun.
I absolutely loved the music, it featured some of my favourite hip hop songs.
The dialogue was fairly lame, the message was cutesy and I much prefer the grittiness of the 1990 live action movie, but it was still enjoyable and anybody complaining about April as a person of colour is being so silly. The only thing about April's race that was central to her characyerxwas her being a member of the human race!
Divorce Bait (2022)
Terrible acting, terrible script and plain unfunny
I thought the plot sounded interesting and decided to watch it and immediately regretted it, I kept watching anyway for a reason I cannot explain.
My first impressions were the acting in this is terrible and I have no idea how this movie made it past production. The dialogue was so poorly written and the characters had no chemistry. The movie just did not flow, every twist and turn came accross as very forced. Everything was so predictable and the things that were surprising were just stupid. The plot had potential and I can't help but feel what could have been a funny and charming comedy was butchered.
Silicon Valley: Exit Event (2019)
Wish episode 6 was the last episode instead!
There was enough ups and downs during the show, I was really hoping it would finish on a high instead of seeing the guys fail for the millionth time and then flash forwarding 10 years to show us how they're all sad and unfulfilled. Not sure why the writers did this, I'm shocked so many people enjoyed the finale. They could have failed in a way where it could be rectified, nope they just had to make them fail. Were the writers scared another network would try to pick up the show and wanted to make sure there was no option for further seasons?
I loved this show and that ending ruined it for me.
Cocaine Bear (2023)
Awful
This movie is terrible, it was an interesting premise to begin with, but it became obvious the writers couldn't choose between making it a horror movie or comedy and ended up failing to do either. The CGI was awful, the bear looked so fake, the production came across as cheap and it just didnt a well structured storyline. Ice Cube's son is a terrible actor, and I honestly feel like the quality of this movie was beneath most of the rest of the main cast.
This could have been a better movie if there was more to the bear's rampage than killing. When we first see the bear he's dancing against the tree acting strange, then for the rest of the movie he's just violently dismembering and killing people.
Something Borrowed (2011)
This movie sucked!
The premise is awful, the storyline is a complete and utter mess and the main characters are just a bunch of sucky people with a completely out of whack moral compass. The protagonist slept with her best friends fiance and we were meant to root for their relationship! Were we supposed to like Dex? He was such a spineless loser, this was a guy that slept with his fiance's best friend the moment her learned she had feelings for him, then kept persuing a relationship with her without calling off his engagement! He was a manipulative, entitled arsehole, and probably the worst character in the movie and I hated that even after he rejected Rachel after she put it all out there they still ended up together, she should have kicked him to the kerb. He was fine with placing her in terrible situation and when she finally decided told him she wanter to pursue a relationship with him he rejected her! What the he'll! What a stupid disappointing movie.
