Friday stars Ice Cube and Chris Tucker as Craig and Smokey, two best friends who live on the same block in South Central. The film also stars Nia Long, Faizon Love, John Witherspoon, Regina King, Tiny Lister Angela Means and Anthony Johnson and takes place in a 24 hour period on a Friday. Craig had just lost his job the previous day (Thursday) and has a big crush on the girl down the street, Debbie. Smokey finds out Craig is unemployed and plans on spending the day with him. Smokey, himself is Craig's best friend who also lives down the street. He is a drug dealer and Craig's best friend but he has a problem instead of selling the weed for his supplier Big Worm he spends all day smoking it and even gets Craig to smoke some of it. Smokey tells Big Worm tries to lie and say he sold the weed and Big Worm doesn't fall for it and warns him that if he doesn't sell the weed or have all of his weed to return to him by 10pm that night that he would kill him and Craig. Brought to reality by this Smokey tells Craig what's going on and apologizes for bringing Craig into the situation. On the other hand, Craig is trying to impress Debbie and find a way to go out with her. Deebo is the bully of the block who often bullies Smokey and Craig and is dating Felisha the neighborhood hoodrat. Smokey tries to steal the money from Deebo while he's asleep at Felisha and Debbie's house but is interrupted by Ezal the neighborhood crackhead and fails to retrieve the money he could've used to fool Big Worm into thinking he sold all the drugs so he wouldn't have to kill him. Deebo wakes up and finds out someone has been digging through his pants and figures Felisha did it since they were in the same room together and jumps on her giving her a black eye which isn't seen in the film but is basically the hypothesis (educated guess on what happened). It's almost 10pm and Big Worm calls asking did Smokey have his money in which Smokey says again not yet but he's gonna get the money for him. Feeling angered by the response, Big Worm hangs up on Smokey and sends a gang of shooters in a van to the street to do a drive-by on Craig and Smokey which they succesfully survive. Making their way back home everyone is outside after hearing the shooting that just occured Debbie brings a beat up Felisha over to Deebo confronting him about beating up her sister and tells him that everyone is afraid of him except her and that if she were a man she'd kick his ass herself. Deebo responds by striking Debbie in the face and Craig pushes Deebo out of the way trying to confront him and tell him that what he did was wrong but Deebo doesn't care and eventually the two start a neighborhood brawl resulting in Craig knocking out Deebo. Everyone is cheering for Craig for knocking out the neighborhood bully, Deebo Red gets his bike back, Craig wins over Debbie's heart and Smokey finally gets the money to give to Big Worm and tells him that he is done selling for Worm and is going to rehab to get clean. Smokey lights up one last blunt and delivers his famous line "and you know this man" and we cut to credits.
