Ghost Hunters: Keeper of the Light (2022)
TAPS reunion
What a great way to start season 15! I really enjoyed seeing Kris, Sharry, Amy, and Adam back again. I also really enjoyed the amount that the episode focused on historical context and research. The acknowledgment that some history such as the African-American lighthouse keeper has been forgotton and now is resurfacing was really cool. The dialogue about the archeology site was so sad but so important. I appreciate that ghost hunters sticks to classic techniques and now does real time evp analysis. Excellent as always. I've been watching this show for a long time and I look forward to it each fall. I'm so excited for the rest of the season!
A League of Their Own (2022)
It *Is* Historically Accurate
I've seen a lot of people complaining that this show isn't historically accurate. You've been told a lie. Gay bars did exist in the 40s. Some women on the league were actually queer (just watch A Secret Love on Netflix!). Trans people have been going incognito since at least the 1800s. I am so glad they made this show. The only inaccurate thing is the sometimes anachronistic dialogue! And that's ok!
The Mysterious Benedict Society (2021)
Most accurate adaptation to date
I was quite fond of this book as a kid and the attention to detail in this adaptation is mind blowing. Almost every little thing is book-accurate. It is truly mind blowing. I respect anyone who adapts a book with this much love and attention.
