A PURE GENIUS MASTERPIECE
This film is a pure masterpiece of motion pictures. Everything from the animation to the BRILLIANT writing is absolutely amazing!!! This movie is the Everest of all arts. Voices were just the BEST and verrryy not cancerous at all.
Everything from the poster to the mere acting makes this movie the masterpiece it is. I recommend this to any adult to watch over and over again.

Otousan no tabako (2007)
Great film
An amazing short film with a good life lesson and moral.
A young girl is on a mission to purchase her sick father cigarettes. She goes through many lengths to find just one cigarette for her father despite the world going against her.
I really enjoyed this short film. All of the characters were amazing as well. I particularly liked the moral and life lesson of the story. The little girl loves her father so much she goes trough a lot of trouble to find him a cigarette. But sometimes, in order to help your love ones you must do what's really best for them. I think this is a good life lesson and moral that makes this film so amazing.
The Crush (2010)
Unique childhood crush story
The film is of a young boy that has a crush on his teacher. She doesn't take it seriously and when the boy sees that she has a fiance and more than that, he's not a good for her, he challenges him to a duel. To the death.
The film was quite amusing to watch and the ending is worth it. The creators do a good job of taking the audience trough what we believe to be a dark film but when the ending is revealed, we see a more comedic approach that I enjoyed.
Over all this film was pure entertainment to me. The character of the boy is a very interesting and entertaining character to watch on screen.
Porcelain Unicorn (2010)
Dark but heartwarming
This film does a good job of showing hope in dark times.
The first scene of the film is of an older man walking over to a door with a box in his hand. We jump back to 1943 in Nazi Germany when the man was a boy. He discovers a little Jewish girl hiding in a closet, holding a porcelain unicorn.
The film makes good usage of going back and forth in time periods and does really well in crafting a story with only limited words and phrase the creators could use. The story was heartwarming and made me quite happy in the end despite the very dark setting and time period.
I would definitely recommend this film.
Three Days in Kamakura (2012)
Visual and good story
It's clear the film had money and production talent behind it.
The plot of this film is that British elementary teacher and his wife are living on the beach of Kamakura and have recently enough lost a child before birth. One day the mother of one of his students fails to come and pick up her child after school on the same day as a deadly train crash happens in the area. The teacher then takes care of the child, until they discover what happened to his mother.
The story was heartwarming, albeit, a little bit plain. The acting was pretty good, which is what kept the material engaging. And the editing was very good (the best part of it). Sadly, where the movie lost its level of quality was in the camera work. It was sometimes shaky, which always throws off an audience.
All in all, a lot of work, effort and time clearly went into this and it's a pretty good little film. Everything was quite well done (other than sometimes the camera work). And the visual aspect of the film I also liked very much. You could clearly see what both characters we're feeling trough there facial expressions and I think this added more to this film.
This movie is recommended for anyone who loves watching short independent films with an engaging story-line and characters.
J'attendrai le suivant... (2002)
Love this movie
When I first saw the scene in which the man announces honestly of his current search for love on the train I thought two things, that this was going to be a cute story or that scene was "too good to be true".
This short film tells the story of a middle-aged woman dressed up going on the subway. On the subway, a man stands up and confesses that he has not found love in many years and tells the truth about his life. Despite the other passengers laughing at him he continues and invites anyone who, like him, is looking for love to hop off at the next station. The woman is charmed and touched, hops off at the next station.
The film does a good job of making the audience feel like this character his "real". We can can easily feel like this woman actually has a past life before the movie we saw took place. She was dressed up but with no date, she looks like she is ready for a night out but had nothing but a miserable look on her face. What kind of job does she have? Has she ever felt love before? Did she have friends? This movie allowed us to think about these kinds of things during the film and further discussions afterwards. I also enjoyed the dark moral of the film. All in all, I very much enjoyed the film and would recommend this to any other movie lovers out there.
Whacked (1997)
A good twist
Whacked!
A good twist
A funny twist on a common New York slang with a nostalgic 1940's style. The film plays a twist on the common slang used when someone has been killed (used often in mafia films) and gives a funny play on the word.
At the beginning of the film you witness various people fall to the ground and ambulances rushing towards the scene giving you the impression that they have been murdered or "whacked". Then the film takes you to a golf range where you meet the main character of the film working as the driver picking up the golf balls. He seems distressed by the golf balls the customers aim at him on the job. When he goes home (I am presuming) you discover that he also takes up golfing, on the roof of an apartment building. He sets up his gear to fight his "ptsd" by shooting golf balls at the people of New York. The people in the beginning of the film we saw falling to the ground we're being murdered as the film has us believe, they we're being hit by golf balls.
This movie is quite entertaining to watch from beginning to end. I also like the idea of using a retro style of filming with no dialogue. I recommend anyone who wishes to pass the time to add this little five minutes title for a short entertaining film with a fun twist on the word we love in gangster films "whacked".
Born with It (2015)
Good view and insight on bullying in Japan
Born with it
Born with it is a film with a good moral lesson for representing to audiences what many Japanese children face everyday in Japanese schools.
The film is of a young Japanese/African American (or referred to in Japan as Hafu) boy and the discrimination he faces at elementary school because of his skin color.
The acting was well done and does well to show the public the prejudice found in Japanese schools. The production was also good. The main purpose and goal of this film doesn't seem to be aiming for awards but more for showing the Japanese public and social media this controversial issues in Japanese schools.
I would recommend this film for not only Japanese but everyone for a good view and insight on bullying.
Fish Out of Water (2005)
Great comedic short
This is a great little film about a peaceful environment being disrupted by various forms of chaos.
A man avoids the annoyance of traffic by taking his rowboat every morning to work. His peaceful solitary commute to work is disrupted when an ungrateful group of people join him on his commute.
I find that this film teaches us the importance of spending time in solidary peace or any form of peace for that matter and how uneasy and unhappy we can become when the things that bring us peace are disrupted, but the film takes a more light and comedic approach to this subject. When I watched the film, I loved the feeling of peace it gave when you see the scenes in which the man rowing his boat in the bay (I assume) at the beginning of the film and when the more chaotic characters are introduced into the movie, I feel the uneasiness settling into the main protagonist.
What makes this movie even more enjoyable is that this is all done without the usage of dialogue. The creators are able to relay to the audience all of these feeling of the main protagonist with only visuals such as facial expressions.
In short, I recommend this film to anyone who wishes to have a good little watch. It's short and very enjoyable.
Father and Daughter (2000)
Amazing
The story of Father and Daughter is the perfect example of the relationship and connection a parent can have with their child told trough a beautifully crafted story.
After the father leaves from the daughter's life you witness the life of the daughter and her growth trough her bicycle and the last place she saw her father.
I found the story touching and beautiful, told in a simple story form, visually. Even without the presence of dialogue anybody can follow the story and fully understand what is happening. I believe a story told like this can be just as if not more challenging than a story told trough multiple forms of communications. A storyteller that can make the audience follow his/her story and make them receive certain feelings with minimum need for multiple platforms of communication is a storyteller to be praised.
The music goes perfectly with the flow and tone of the story added much more to the visuals of the film. The animation is also very unique. I almost felt as if I was watching a shadow puppet play. Even though the characters we're nothing but shadows, I felt no different than watching a colored animation.
This film reminds me of my connection with my parents, not knowing what I would do if one of them left from my life. This movie is definitely worth a watch and is more than worthy of all its praise.
Children of Men (2006)
Amazing
Amazing cinematography and story.
The story tells of a world were women have somehow become infertile and it's been over a decade since the last baby was born. The main character is a former activist and is recruited on a journey to bring a special young women to the human project.
The camera work in this film is absolutely amazing. The film has a good mix of hand held shots and some not but works really well together. There are also some very impressive long shots were scenes and actors are chaotic but the camera does not cut. The movies score was also good.
The story also touches on the topic of how many countries controversial ways of dealing with immigrants and refugees.
All in all I loved watching this movie. Especially if you are a fan of cinematography then I would recommend you to try out this movie.
The Last of the Mohicans (1992)
Pure adventure and entertainment
The Last of the Mohicans offers viewers pure entertainment along with adventure, romance and action.
The story tells of an adopted son, his Mohican brother and father trying to avoid the ever expanding war between the British and the French in the colonial era of North America. But when they rescue two daughters of the British commander of a fort, they are forced in the middle of this battle to return the daughters safely with danger at every turn.
I've always loved this movie ever since my father showed this to me as a kid. I instantly fell in love with the score and the story. Last of the Mohicans offers the audience everything to keep you entertained. This is a hard movie to only watch once.
I would recommend this film to anyone who enjoys movies. This for me is a perfect rainy day film.
28 Days Later... (2002)
Edge of your seat.
This film had me on the edge of my seat.
The film starts with a man waking up in a hospital room. He realizes that he is all alone and not a soul around. He will soon figure out that he woke up into a living nightmare.
The story is well written and differs from the traditional "zombie" flicks. This horror film actually has the audience caring for the characters and keeps a good suspense trough out the film.
What makes this film special from other zombie films is that the "zombies" are actually infected humans. There is no re-animate from the dead and the infected... Can run.
If you like suspense, chase, horror flicks with a different approach to the traditional zombie film then I would recommend this film to you.
