Oppenheimer (2023)
Music! Not for YOUR ears!
The casting is right and acting is believable, but that horrid music in a background of a dialogue is simply atrocious! Makes it feel like a typical TV documentary with horrid cliche music that constantly rings in your ears! It was so god damn annoying I simply couldn't finish watching it.
I can't comprehend, how the movie production of such calibre didn't pay close enough attention to sound mix and overall choice of the music.
But wait! Even bigger surprise coming up next:
Out of 13 total Oscar nominations, "music" has 2! :)
This must be a mockery of the century! :)
What is happening with Hollywood?! Or the Academy?! How many times this same problem needs to repeat for you guys to wake up?
Triangle of Sadness (2022)
Standing Ovation By Politburo!
Do Kremlin propagandists have their hands in making of this film? Harrelson's rant of America being "bad" and drunk Russian billionaire being "lovable guy". Connecting the dots: Harrelson (who I respect as a fine actor) is also known to be a fan of bizarre conspiracy theories, thus no surprise he agreed to play the part. Overall, it's a pathetic attempt to promote anti-western, anti-capitalistic ideas. Overall, it's a painfully slow-paced film, with meaningless interactions between two supposedly main characters, who in fact are not main characters. The scenes that may make viewers actually gag (don't watch with full stomach!). This waste of time "thing", for lack of a better word, would make a "great film" in places where oligarchy is ripe and well. Big question is, how the hell did it win Europe's most coveted award like Palme d'Or? Well, it tells us something about bankrupted ideas, doesn't it?

Far away from being great!!!
This movie is far-far away from being great, as one reviewer had suggested. Firstly, great movies these days are so eagerly awaited that discovering them surely won't go unnoticed, especially by majority of film critics. It seems like this film passed through at least one international film festival. If it was even closer to "greatness" many would know, but this certainly is not the case. Why do I think it's less than mediocre picture? To start with, it is a clear demonstration of horrendous acting! Except for an actor who played psychiatrist in first part. He somewhat showed understanding of who he was playing, although he didn't quite deliver in third part of the movie. Third part...don't even ask! This is another reason for a thumb down, but I can't afford to waist any more time.
