Complete and total fiction
12 March 2024
What the liberal Democrat-Socialists of America want you to believe about their orchestrated cover up of their "coup" to steal the US Presidential Election for Joe Biden / the Deep State / uniparty/ ruling class.

The "riot" started when US Capitol police let protesters into the rotunda and then Antifa broke in by force to the lower gallery.

This was all done to derail the efforts of "Tea Party" Republican Senators to challenge the election results in AZ, GA , MI , PA and WI were there were widespread irregularities with mail in ballots and voting machines by Dominion.

When Ted Cruz initiated proceedings to challenge the AZ results, that's when the rioting started.

The truth is Nancy Pelosi wanted this Chaos and had illegal meetings with Mark Milley and pentagon officials to make sure there was not National Guard or US Army troops that might be loyal to President rather than US Capitol Police who are under the Speaker's control.

The producers of this film should put out a statement apologizing to the Country for their Purely Partisan portrayal depicted. They should also pull the film from HBO streaming service for inaccurate information.

Complete garbage.

Just finished first episode, where are the American boys?
7 February 2024
So what's the deal ?

What can't they cast American young men to play American flyers?

Elvis/Gale/Buck (Austin Butler) is silly, I can't believe for a minute this guy is a squadron leader, he's so goofy and aloof.

Then there's Bucky (Callum Turner -Brit No1) . He's basically Ed Skreim or Luke Evans from Midway .

A one dimensional Brit trying to be a plucky and over the top , swaggering American. Come on Narwhal tusk? And the sergeant/bartender is going to pick a fight with a Major?

The biggest problem is all these Brit soy boys all look like they are 23. The Majors in WW2 would be in their early 30s and back then men looked like men, not little boys. The casting sucks and there's no attempt at character development.

I can't stand Barry Keoughan, what a total waste.

Like other reviews Band of Brothers (2001) set the bar high for WW2 mini-series. This just seems like they ran out of budget , due to excessive CGI required to recreate B-17 bomber formations and Liftwaffe fighters.

The CGI kind of stinks though too. It's nothing compared to DCS combat simulations in terms of resolution and physics. The fighters don't maneuver like real fighters relative to the speed of bombers.

The only A plus is the interior of the B-17 experience. The cramped, cold and nearly impossible to escape flak and fighter cannon attacks. The gruesome 1st mission accurately portrays how terrible losses were for the 8th Air Force in 1943. More Airmen were lost during one year vs all US Marines in the Pacific over 2.5 years of island hopping .

I was hoping for more.

I'll keep watching, but huge missed opportunity by following current Hollywood trend of casting Brits and Aussies, instead of manly Americans.

Skyler Gisondo would have been good 1st LT or Captain as navigator.

Scott Eastwood would have been better Major Gale/ Buck

Clark Duke and Jake Lacy ( New guys from The office : Season 9) could have been good options for intel or other command staff.

Alden Ehrenreich (Solo) would seem to be a good casting too as Major Bucky.

I was really bothered by the mythical CO, spitting blood. Why?

Joaquin Phoenix is a little old, but he could have pulled it off better than Nikolai Kinski (French actor)

I guess Miles Teller was already doing Top Gun 2 , but her could have been more convincing than Austin/Elvis, or even bring back Shia LaBouef. He did decent job in Fury (2014) .

Anyway so many better casting possibilities, and the stupidity of episode 2 is that the Brit boys play Americans who pick fights with British RAF pilots.

This is a stupid, waste of air time and doesn't further the plot at all.

Complete Garbage on its face , but then there's the underlying concept
2 February 2024
A lot of folks in reviews praise the animation style and writing.

I gave the first episode a try and wow, what a complete piece of underdeveloped, poorly executed piece of dumpster trash.

Why is everything red?

Who decided that's a good idea ?

The voice acting was terrible , along with the trashy dialogue. Then there's the whole blasphemy of Lilith and Lucifer ....im done with folks trying to do "choose your own version" of religion.

Just like Family Guy it's all about being " edgy and cool"

Not surprising that this is an Amazon show after "Good Omens ". I'm sorry satire shouldn't mess with satanic characters portrayed in positive light. Evil is evil period.

Enough with mocking Christianity . I get it there's free speech, but I hope people choose not to watch and the show is cancelled.

Encanto (2021)

Yes , it's a fun family film, but only with a slight veneer atop current Disney messaging
30 November 2023
The family Madrigal, a large dysfunctional family that lives in an "Enchanted Casita" in a small mountain village in colonial era Columbia.

Of course given the latest trend, there are no strong male characters...they are all silly, shy , stupid or ostracized. Abuela , instead is our matriarch of the family and honestly she's not a nice or warm character. She's chasing the "miracle" and exploiting the magical powers her family has been given by some mystical force? ( No explanation , but in modern times we can have anything about God. Which is funny too because there's discussion of prayer and there is a priest character who is just there for musical number.) Abuela is terrible to her granddaughter, Mirabel and her son Bruno. While "We don't Talk about Bruno" is a fun , catchy song in the samba style it's actually pretty terrible how the whole family shuts out Bruno because his "gift" is telling people the awful truth about their futures.

Overall, the animation is good with bright vibrant colors, but the story is awful.

Even Lin Manuel can't save this dead donkey of a film.

Wow it's Brie Larson as ....Brie Larson
25 October 2023
After being bombarded by previews for this show ( geez the marketing team were really trying hard) , we decided to give it a shot based on the premise.

As other reviewers have stated the narrative is not fully true to form, but that's to be expected in current era of more emphasis on " messaging " rather than historical accuracy and context. The production value and visuals looked pretty good. The pacing was ok , and the supporting cast for their part did a great job . Where did this film go wrong? Well, it's our favorite Oscar-winning Gen -Y actress. She can't be bothered to give us anything other than her trademark "eh , I'm so disinterested in everything " face in nearly every scene. Yes, she's a physically attractive woman, but she has no depth as an actor to convey emotions. I do understand why she hasn't been given starring role in 3+ years , but I don't see why they took a chance on what could have been a decent film, with such a dud as the lead. Can't wait for The Marvels.

This ain't Star Trek- Picard is a lame, lost old man
22 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Nostalgia can only take you so far.

Every ST:TNG fam was excited to see the return of their favorite characters and new adventures.

However, we got the bumbling drivel of a story that has more plot holes than the Neutral Zone.

It's all negative, pessimistic, apocalyptic trash.

Beloved characters like Picard, data , and 7 of 9 are just butchered. Then we get the forgettable side characters that don't have acting skills or well written dialogue. Like other recent Trek shows it's infuriatingly brought down by overarching woke/ progressive messaging.

Do Not, Engage!

Not a fan of the broadway musical, but at least those people had talent and showed some enthusiasm. This was flat and stupid. It felt like the team was rushed to get this one out and didn't put 100% into it.

Charmed (1998–2006)

Terrible show writing, great cast to look at
2 January 2021
Charmed was riding the coattails of Sabrina, Buffy and The Craft in the late 1990s and the re-emergence of interest in the occult/ wicken culture. Aaron Spelling delivered another Charlie's Angels , but with "witch flavor" instead of secret agents. Overall the writing and acting was pretty bad. I would bet most viewers were teenage boys, because they costumes and visuals for Ms. Milano and her "sisters" did not disappoint. One acting gem from the show was early Julian McMahon whom would go on to Nip/Tuck , Fantastic Four films, Red, and most recently FBI: Most Wanted.

Decent show, decent cast , but still too many liberal undertones
28 December 2020
Good casting with exception of Kevin Costner. He's still a terrible actor, much better as director or producer. This show isn't as good as Billions as it has too many dueling agendas Ranch owner, property developer, government officials and Reservation chief. The beauty of Billions is the Chuck-Bobby axis upon which every other character revolves. This show needs to focus on the man losing his Ranch and one opponent. Also, too many kid issues that distract from the central plot. Only relationship worth a damn is the one between Kayce and John. Also, would like to see more of his past story fleshed out as Navy SEAL. The former- SEAL trope has been used a lot lately , but then again the Global War on Terror has seen the number of SEALs grow. I know a lot of folks are turned off by Beth character, I happen to enjoy Kelly Reilly's portrayal and think she probably enjoys the role, being the bad girl with a purpose. I could do without some of the overt nudity. We're all adults, we don't really need to see it , to understand it. That's something that's lost in current media. Sex has been used since golden age Of cinema and television. Excessive overuse of sex devalues it's effectiveness and ability to influence audience. Overall decent show , we'll be watching unless the liberal undercurrents become too much to handle.

Best interviewer ever...and boy could he sweet talk the ladies
23 August 2020
Classy guy, who knew how to move an interview. My all time favorite was his interview with Kate Mara. She was a little tipsy and they got into it , and she drank out of his "snake cup". Check it out on YouTube. Craig had a unique talent to make guest feel at ease and be the casual flirt with the ladies to make them feel the electrical pull of his charm.

Conan (2010–2021)

Prior to 2015, a solid alternative to tired Network Latenight shows, not it's abysmal
23 August 2020
I used to LOVE Conan O'Brien and Andy Richter in all 3 shows they did together. He definitely got the shaft by NBC and Leno, lots of ya were pulling for TBS show success. For the first few years it seemed like they had recaptured the spirit of Late Night ( NBC) show, with skits, La Bambi, in the year 2000 , and some of the funniest celebrity interviews. Then the 2016 election season heated up and Conan seemed to sign over his soul to the mainstream agenda for good. He stopped being funny and just became the same unfunny loser as the other 3 new late night non-comedian. ( Funny Falon tried to be fair and got beat down , then got in line.). After being a loyal Conan viewer for more than 2 decades, I've moved on.

PS the whole Cuban episode was a smack in the face of Cuban- Americans and Mr. O'Brien became a puppet of the Castro family , Yuck, what a loser.

Good effort, but over dramatized and atrocious casting
2 August 2020
I'm a huge fan of Ford, Ford's racing heritage , the Mustang , the GT40 and the historic 1966 1-2-3 win for USA.

Positives : 1) I'm glad that they tried to tell Carroll Shelby, Ken Miles And the rest of the Shelby American team story.

2) I love that they did practical effects with cars.

That's it everything else is contrived Hollywood "Based on Actual Events" Drivel.

The biggest fail in this movie is casting. It's a huge lift because many of these real life people were larger than life personalities; 1) Matt Damon in no way portrays Carroll Shelby with any authenticity 2) John Bernthal as Lee Iacocca, are you kidding? 3) Tracy Letts as Henry Ford II -- 50% Tracy Letts/ 50% Dick Cheney characterization , 0% Henry Ford II -- 100% terrible miscast and poor acting choices 4) Christian Bale , does a good enough job, but doesn't convey the true class, courage or chivalry of Old school/ hard knocks race driver Ken Miles 5) Only highlight Alex Gurney as Dan Gurney

Your better off watching Adam Carolla's 2016 documentary film "The 24 Hour War" and his 2019 follow on effort "Shelby American".

Decent movie, but not the standout it's played up to be.
2 August 2020
Average performances from decent ensemble cast. Nothing groundbreaking, or anything that's not formulaic. Frances McDormand as Frances McDormand Sam Rockwell as Sam Rockwell Woody as Woody. The one actor who got shafted with poor writing and character development is Abbie Cornish. She's great and in this film was under utilized as Woody's wife, I'll forgo any spoilers. Overall Hollywood trying to portray "flyover" middle America as they call it, and only producing a lukewarm result. They think it's a cinematic triumph that tackles racism.

Warning: Spoilers
I was generally looking forward to this film, but I walked out bored and disappointed. The creative team of Elton John and Bernie Taupin created iconic music that was a snapshot of the times. The storytelling style of Elton sitting around a rehab table was sad, boring and overdone. Come on already, with the talking into the camera and smiling? Could have been so much better.

Great film...a genre that isn't visited much anymore
27 May 2019
Great semi-bio pic set during the golden age of Formula One racing. The bragadocious Brit vs the straight lacsdyGerman in a classic tale of rivals that ultimately after battling for years and cheating death realize they are more alike than different. A great story about how sports and celebrity can bring out the best and worst in people. Daniel Bruhl and Chris Hemsworth give great performances under the direction of Ron Howard. Also great score by Hans Zimmer.

Has not aged well...
7 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This show was the show of the young 90s generation. (not mine, I was an adolescent during most of its run) However, as I watch now as an adult of contemporary age of most of the protagonists, I find myself saying, "Wow, these are some pretty self-absorbed and childish liberals." But then again it's New York with no consequences, "do what you feel." The more I think about, the more I don't like this show. The Rachel/ Ross will they/ will they not get together? ( Oh Btw he's married multiple times and she's just too non- committal to anything except her hair). The only semi- adult relationship is between Chandler and Monica in later seasons. Joey didn't get enough air time, but then "Joey" spin-off was pretty bad, not enough for a full show. Who can forget "Smelly cat"? Overall, a show that could have been wrapped up in 2-3 seasons that NBC milked for years as part of its Thursday "Must See TV" block. It was coincident with Seinfeld for a few years, but was then elevated to the 9pm anchor slot after Seinfeld's Finale. It never quite filled the gap.

Best X-men movie of them all
26 November 2018
Loved the ensemble cast and the origin stories. Thought there was too much focus on Raven/Mystique...but Hunger Games was big then. Overall through the Kennedy era nostalgia was fun and exciting. January Jones was under utilized as just eye candy for 2 scenes. Kevin Bacon was the freaky villain (who i don't remember from the comics) but seemed more like a facsimile of himself than Actual Kevin Bacon.
