The Thing About Pam: She's a Killer (2022)
Good television
This show was just camp enough to work. Renee Zellweger is amazing and captures her character so well. That character, Pam Hupp, is a great example of the type of psychopath that lives amongst us. Many, thankfully, don't go off the rails as Hupp did. But when they do...hirrible things happen. I feel for all of her victims. When a psychopath is aided by ambitious and morally ambiguious people like the overzealous police and district attorney in this case, you end up with tragedy. Pam Hupp reminds me greatly of Betty Broderick and her crazy story. People get chewed up and spit out as though they were nothing but cannon fodder.
The miniseries was entertaining, and I can easily see Emmy Awards for Zellweger and Pam Greer.
Malignant (2021)
Makes no sense
I am absolutely stunned at the "10" ratings for this mess. I saw this the first day it released on HBO. I have never been so disappointed. The whole thing made absolutely no sense. I expected more from James Wan. Much more.
The Stranger Beside Me (2003)
Best Bundy Actor
Overall, this movie is "meh." It lacks accuracy. Many of the quotes are presented out of context. Events are portrayed incorrectly or out of order. It was pretty typical of a made-for-tv movie, which is probably why it went direct to dvd.
All that aside, Billy Campbell does the best interpretation of Bundy I've seen in all of the movies about him. He captures the chameleon nature of the man by constantly changing his hairstyle and facial expressions. His voice mimics Bundy's well. So it is worth a watch just to see Campbell.
