JAG: All Ye Faithful (2002)
Good Lord...!
(Reference intended)
Can we pile on the cheese please?!?
Can we gonna convert three Kuwaiti Inspectors to Christendom?!? As three wise men? Why yes we can!!!
Can we get Santa in the air?!? Why yes we can!!!
How about Jacob Marley spooking a Warrant Officer into bringing chow?!? Damn Straight!!!
How about nice, easy Xmas tunes for planes landing in heavy fog with Toys for Tots?!?
Ohh yeah, not a problem!!!
This episode has it all, baby!
Call me cynical, I am... Bah... humbug!
House M.D.: Autopsy (2005)
Yeah yeah... it's a good House episode...
What an underestimation in a short header line!
I like House a lot but sometimes it gets to be a bit tedious.
This episode would have gotten a best picture Oscar if it were a full length movie...
The nine year old girl would have received a best actress award, and as I think about it, she should have received a Golden Globe.
The episode in some ways might have been better saved for a season ending, or even a series ending episode!
It is that good!!!
You gain an amazing insight to House's humanity which he still manages to hide from his co-workers, but them only!
Then you are treated (not sure if 'treated' is the right word here) to a little nine year old girl who acts so far above her years, it is borderline cheating!
Easily the best episode I've ever seen and it is very moving in so many 'spot on' ways!
Just look at it and judge for yourselves. I think you'll agree.
Columbo: Murder in Malibu (1990)
Skip it...
Just about the worst acting I have ever seen...
Good lord, this episode is really bad!
They should have gone all in and really over-acted and turned it into a comedy!
House M.D.: Maternity (2004)
One of the only...
Episodes the hit me hard, emotionally.
My son is now 38 but I can never get my vision of him after he was born!
I'm so grateful that something like this was never a problem for him, or us!!!
This episode hits home very hard for me.
The High Chaparral: The Price of Revenge (1967)
I dunno... I'm often amazed and impressed by this show!
The High Chaparral is a show that is similar to Bonanza in many ways... the camaraderie between characters is really great!
I loved both shows, and watched both as a kid! But this episode of High Chaparral illustrated, really illustrated the humanity of the characters in a way that is different from most TV shows or movies.
The part towards the end, Blue Boy made the show...! You'll see, and I think you'll agree.
The High Chaparral: A Matter of Survival (1970)
Great episode where the focus isn't on the main stars!
Victoria, Sam, and Pedro, escorting Victoria back the the High Chaparral come across a burnt wagon with a man and woman dead plus a live baby. They determine that the Apache are responsible and wish to get a move on before they return. That plan is interrupted when Dan, they father of the man and grandfather of the baby fells the need to bury his son and daughter-in-law. As he begins, the Apache re-appear and attack.
With Dan's extra rifle and good cover, they are able to drive the raiding party off, but only temporarily.
The episode continues as they are pursued. I won't give more away because the adventure continues to be really good!
It's a nice change to see the secondary characters getting some love for once! It really adds depth to their personalities in future episodes!
There are things in this episode that may seem off or unrealistic to some people. Like when the Apache start firing fire arrows into the brush around the group and they begin trying to put the little fires out with their blankets. Many people do not know that wool does not burn easily and is just about the perfect means to do this, short of using water.
This series is often very enjoyable in its realism of folks who might be living under such condition in such a place. The high desert is both really hot as most know, but also extremely cold. Of course water is always a problem! When things happen, it's almost always serious.
I never really care when they show some white kid as an Indian boy who is almost always the hero.
The Apache are always the bad guys though sometimes... rarely can show an honorable side.
This episode for me, shows experiences that I'm sure occasionally happen in the Old West High Desert. Very, very good portrayal!
The Untouchables: City Without a Name (1961)
Great story and one of my favorites!
Perhaps I like 'talky' shows over unnecessary machine gunning. This show is great for because we get to see how gangsters may have moved against each other while under pressure from the Feds.
The episode is not very convoluted and is pretty easy to follow while the backstabbing is in full swing!
It has its share of Tommy guns and actually, the way show got kicked off, yeah, great episode for me!
The Untouchables: Power Play (1961)
It never fails to amaze me, how good TV actors were in the '50s and '60s!
Without giving anything away at all, Take a lesson in some of the most superlative acting on the planet!
The story is flawless and the characters are all down the middle like one would demand.
Watch and be mesmerized as you are transported to a time in US history that, I'm pretty sure wasn't embellished!
Well, maybe it was a little... Just an outstanding series at every turn!!!
Bonanza: Decision at Los Robles (1970)
Frightened mice to the rescue?
This episode is virtually identical to the Wagon Train "The Jane Hawkins Story"... If you've seen that episode, you'll have seen this one.
The Rifleman: The Mescalero Curse (1961)
Seemed rushed...
This episode was Ok. but it seemed very rushed to me. Perhaps they could've turned it into a two part episode and made it into a funny show.
The comedy could have been abundant!
Wagon Train: The Felizia Kingdom Story (1959)
One of the best episodes of
Wagon Train!
Awesome story that keeps you involved in so many ways!
Just watch and enjoy! No needless comic relief bickering, just a great story!!!
Perry Mason: The Case of the Weary Watchdog (1962)
Old Chinese saying... "China knows all about Moses"
Ok, my title is weak, but so are the myriad of contrived old Chinese sayings that are riddled throughout the episode which for me was really distracting and groan inducing...
Then there is a Chinese woman, played by a white woman. Yeesh!
The stereotypical portrayal of ethnic people in the older days is on full display and sometimes, to the point of being comical.
To be honest, I'm never offended by the portrayals of ethnic folks in Hollywood, today or back then.
The episode in every other way is great!!!
The Rockford Files: Backlash of the Hunter (1974)
What a shot!
I liked this pilot and it does really establish much of Rockford's character for future episodes.
Without going on and on, there are several unbelievable sequences that simply are impossible. Namely shooting down a Cessna with a .38 revolver. Maybe it was a .44... Either way, it messed up a really good show.
It kinda... no it totally reminded me of the Magnum PI pilot where Magnum is driving the Ferrari being chased by the bad guys driving an old Dodge Dart or something and yet he is unable to shake them. Puh-lease!!! Magnum really needed some serious driving lessons! Maybe it was because he can't drive a stick!
Anyway, it has to be the lack of sophistication of audiences in the '70s.
