Fame Us (2017)
9/10
Timely documentary for today's social climate
18 January 2018
"Fame Us" very successfully directs its audience to press pause on our involvement with the entire social media experience (for some it may even be considered their life). This documentary exposes that in each of us, there is a desire to be known and explores whether or not "fame" is the fulfilment of that desire. Through a variety of interviews with "famous" people and through the personal reflection of the filmmaker, you will have plenty to "chew on" with regards to both the appeal and trappings of fame. You will be entertained, intrigued, and if you're honest yourself, you'll be challenged and convicted with regards to your own "narcissistic" involvement in the social media world! The message of this documentary has potential to redirect the trajectory of how our world perceives and engages with this animal called "social media" Overall, this film is worth watching for everyone, especially anyone who even tinkers with social media.
