Just...wow...
19 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This documentary was absolutely gripping. The documentary did not drag and at no moment did I un-engage.

I was NOT fascinated by the killer and his actions- he is your typical sad case of psycho. That being said:

I WAS fascinated by both Deanna and John's story. Their tenacity and drive of these two people was incredible. I found myself wanting to shout at the screen when these two cracked the case but were still powerless. It's incredible. You become invested in these two. Although this story is internet based, it shows a very human side through them. Another incredible aspect is seeing how the surveying this group did, learning the behavior, interests and habits comes full circle and allows them to utilize all their collected information. This group was able to pick up the trail. I really just found their determination surreal. I think the documenters did an excellent job weaving John and Deanna's story and using that as the root of their storytelling.

I think this was an excellent documentary about those who tried to help; all the way down to Jun Lin's best friend searching for him. It shows what they did, what they endured and how they were effected.

It's a truly devastating story.

Side note- to touch on the title, I think some misinterpreted this title as lack of interest in Jun Lin. I'm not sure if perhaps these people didn't watch the documentary in it's entirety? That cats are basically the heartbreaking gate way. The cats are a gate way for this killer, as well as the gate way of building a small community of people seeking justice. They were trying to catch a killer before he graduated to humans. This documentary makes it clear that all the innocent lives lost, both human and animal, were absolutely tragic

Don't judge a show by it's cover
26 June 2019
As someone whose favorite shows are X-FIles and The Sopranos, I wrote this show off from the moment I saw the previews. And wow do I apologize to the writers and the actors of this excellent, engaging tv show. Little did I know this gem of a show had a ton in common with my two favorite shows, strong female lead, lots of crime, and genuine comedic moments thru characters that have excellent development.

This show is one of a kind, dramatic, hilarious and heart-warming. The story line is completely unique and offers so much variety to viewers. The character development is excellent and really makes you as a viewer fall inlove with these unique characters. It's so binge worthy, and in the current season it brings me back every week.

I love these women! You did it right this time TNT, hope this shows has a long life with many seasons to come.

Tuca & Bertie (2019–2022)

Need more!
21 May 2019
Tuca & Bertie is an excellent cartoon. I agree with other reviewers who weren't drawn in by the first episode as I too was not. Although as pilots often can be misleading, I gave the next episode a chance and I'm so happy I did. I feel like the void Broad City has left in my heart has begun to fill in a bit with this cartoon.

The little details in every scene and joke pairing are so witty and soooo creative, I really love it. As I have never seen Bojack I can't really attest to it's likeness, I will say this show feels a lot like Broad City mixed in with the nonsensical details of early Adventure Time and the story-telling of Bob's Burgers

My only complaint is we need more episodes in a season! Hopefully this show is given more episodes in its second season. Only 10 episodes at 25 minutes each left me a little unfulfilled!

Ramy (2019– )

Absolutely genuinely hilarious
7 May 2019
This show is authentic, genuine, and really, really FUNNY. Laugh out loud, had to rewind, type funny.

Yes Ramy is a Muslim comedy, but as an Italian from New Jersey I identified with so many characters and scenarios in unique ways. The struggles of trying to please family, your culture, your friends, but most of all yourself. This show not only offers up ways to relate but also ways to understand the Muslim culture. Comedy can provide so much in allowing us to understand others by laughing along with them, without being crude or uncomfortable, Ramy did that.

The storylines in each episode were fresh and unique. Do you know how nice it is to engage in a FRESH storyline in 2019? The film quality & acting are superb, even the graphics in the opening credits are incredible. I hope this show gains the recognition it deserves and continues for many seasons.

Ramy is definitely a voice we've been waiting to hear.

Incredible
11 December 2018
Each season-each episode is full of substance and quality; the storylines, actors, cinematography (so lynch-esque), it's truly an above average show.

This show truly pushes the viewer to suspend disbelief and submerge into a world of horror and madness. The psychological thrill each season is able to achieve is awesome. Something I truly appreciate about this show is the type of horror each season inflicts, each is different. The first season was dark and ominous, the second season a total mind-screw which left my jaw dropped, the third season was grotesque- some scenes I couldn't even bear to watch, and the fourth season was CREEPY as well as tragic as well as kinda funny. Please let there be more seasons to follow! It's so refreshing to have a horror show with a strong story line.

Also, can we please get more of the actor who played Pretzel Jack,Troy James? Not only was he creepy but WOW his ability to act without any words was honestly amazing. His facial expressions, mannerisms, everything WERE AMAZING.

Hap and Leonard (2016–2018)

This Series Just Became a Favorite
20 April 2018
It's almost impossible not to get lost in the world of Hap & Leonard, the chaos is mesmerizing. Nearly every episode has left me on the edge of my seat no matter how big or small the problem is in which Hap & Leonard have so blindly walked into.

The "odd couple" partnership of two friends has been a story told many times in many different ways, Hap & Leonard has flawlessly made an old classic new again. Not only are they an odd couple amongst themselves but they are odd in likes to all of those around them. This paired with dark-humored trouble that always seems to follow the two makes for a lively story.

The character development is both refreshing and interesting and has been executed by two perfectly cast actors- and this excellence does not fall short of the supporting characters/actors. I hate, no actually I loathe Beau Otis, I've rolled my eyes when he comes on screen, which in my opinion just shows how superb the overall writing and acting is.

It's as dark as it is light-hearted, as "small town" as it is out of this world, and as emotional as it is witty. The chaos which surrounds Hap & Leonard creates a harmony that I hope lives on for many more seasons to come.

Like other users have stated, I'm happy I just so happened to stumble upon this show. It'd be a real shame to miss out on this one.

At Home with Amy Sedaris (2017–2020)

Excellent display of Amy's nonchalant comedy
28 November 2017
It's true that Amy Sedaris's comedy isn't for everyone. Either you like her or you don't. She's uncomfortably strange which is part of her charm. At Home With Amy Sedaris is an excellent display of Amy's comedic performance, it's as if a neurotic, outlandish 50s house wife that most likely never leaves her house landed her own TV show. Each episode possesses an excellent dose of comedy that helps the d.i.y. style story line flow naturally. Amy's ability to disguise her jokes as regular conversation and perform ridiculous actions that appear normal makes the entire show non-stop funny. In addition to this, the show's set is a feast for the eyes. Not only does the set look amazing, but it creates an environment which allows the viewer to suspend disbelief and really immerse themselves into Amy's charming, strange world.
