Vikings: Valhalla (2022)
The very definition of a good spin off!
First of all, yes there is diversity where there shouldn't be, but if you let that ruin the experience that's your business. This show, just as its predecessor has never been accurate. This spin off has some amazing throwbacks to vikings, strong main cast too. I am very invested in Leif, Harald and Knut. The acting is superb. The battles are amazing as well, only a few episodes in atm but the strategies used so far are well thought out. I love that they kept Trevor Morris for the music. To summarize: if you enjoyed vikings, you will enjoy this. It is very familiar, but at the same time stands on its own and I can't wait for more😍
Another Life (2019)
Very rough start, but season 2 is excellent, sci-fi at its finest!
The first few episodes are garbage, they really tried my patience. You get thrust into a universe with NOTHING explained, the crew are amateurs and extremely dysfunctional. But something happened near the end of season 1 and season 2 is brilliant in its entirety. I really hope we get a season 3 because the potential is there, some very interesting alien lifeforms and brilliant acting.
Vikings: The Last Act (2020)
Perfect end and conclusion
Where so I begin, season 5 had its moments but overall felt very dragged out, 6A was more or less the same, 6B however was a rollercoaster. Bjørns final act, Hvitserk vs Ivar where he finally gets what he deserved and then the amazing bromance that follows. Ivars death was also very well done imo he knew he was dying and wanted to die in battle, Flokis apperance, Haralds defiant death....everything was very well wrapped up! Tears was streaming from joy and sadness multiple times during this season. It has been an amazing journey and I am thankful that it got a worthy and complete ending. Looking forward to Vikings: Valhalla, but the cast will be new and that is sad because I feel the characters, especially Hvitserk was at his peak now, glad it ended on a high note.
Vikings: The Best Laid Plans (2020)
Great but also abit wtf
There is no way Ivar can be there to deliver the final blow? He was climbing a moubtain ffs? Now all of a sudden he is back on the beach? Great fight and overall great episode
Vikings: Resurrection (2020)
Finally Hvitserk is his good old self
Many people say they don't understand why he is joining up with Ivar again when the answer to that is the following.
1. He "killed" Ivar when killing Lagertha and then woke up from his drug use and then gets banned by his other brothers who now hate him, making Ivar his only other option.
2. He is playing Ivar and plan to stab him in the back.
Time will tell, I for one am only happy that he is finally out of this drug business
Bad Boys for Life (2020)
Amazing!
If you like bad boys 1 and 2, you will love this! The new crew is great, but doesn't steal the show. I started grinning after the first scene and almost rofled at the cinemas in other scenes. Fantastic humor, a few lame parts, but every movie has those.
Vikings: The Ice Maiden (2020)
Magical
No huge battles, no intruiging plots, but a magical funeral for Lagertha, great music and effects. Goodbye Lagertha, now may the story move on! Hvitserk also seems to have snapped out of his drug spree which was my hope. I seriously hope he lives otherwise it would be for nothing.
The Witcher (2019)
Nerdgasm
You will enjoy this if you have read the books, they have done an amazing job. Chronology is messy, just like the books!
Henry has done an amazing job as Geralt!
Black people in witcher universe was not a thing until now, not a huge issue for me, but at the same time, why add it now?
If you have not read the books however you will most likely end up confused, this is the show's biggest drawback and I hope they improve on it. Personally I understood everything, but many people, even those claiming to have read the books, struggle with the chronology.
Me on the other hand just had a nerdgasm throughout all episodes.
Stargate Origins (2018)
What is wrong with the fans?
Okay the acting isn't stellar, it is very light hearted, mabye abit too much at times, but come on! Anyone who claims it breaks canon has obviously not watched it, she gets her memory altered near the ending. So she naturally won't remember walking through the gate. I loved how they tried to communicate with eachother and I had a few good laughs. Is it a glorious return for the franchise? No. But it is not the garbage that people make it out to be. Shame on you, no wonder they haven't made any new stargate shows, hope this reception doesn't mean the death of the franchise.
Killjoys: Don't Stop Beweaving (2019)
What?
I think killjoys is okay, but why the hells does Khlyen help the Lady? Why not kill her?
Other than that it was an amazing episode, great acting and of course the usual jokes which are tiresome as always x)
Killjoys: Blame It on the Rain (2019)
Good episode with a weird soundtrack in the end
Anyone else noticed they used vikings soundtrack for the final scene? Cool, but weird. Good episode though
Nightflyers (2018)
Why the hate?
I don't understand the hate! I think it is great! Good acting, music and plot. It even has a few jumpscares! The cgi is also top notch, people are way too demanding these days
The 100: Sanctum (2019)
Stunning!
Absolutely stunning! Great premiere, fantastic pacing and great acting. It's everything you would want to see in a premiere.
Game of Thrones: The Long Night (2019)
Great episode with a few major disappointments
You are on the defence.....why would u want to charge with the Dothraki? Why not make them come from the flank or push the dead back once they've breached the trenches?
Why not have the siege equipment behind the walls? To keep the army at bay?
Why not have a torchbearer by the trench?
NK hears Jon when he is...100-200 meters away, but not Arya until the last second?
Why does Drogon wait until he is infested with white walkers before he takes flight? Why not do so when there were only a few of them attached to him?
Was this really the end for NK? It feels so...pointless. I cannot say how the show is gonna end, but I had hoped that they would fail in Winterfell, fall back to Kings Landing, bow before Cersei and make their final stand there, but who knows, mabye the ending of the show will be good, but as of now I am very disappointed with how the white walkers and NK died.
Great battle though with some amazing moments.
Star Trek: Discovery: An Obol for Charon (2019)
THIS is Star Trek!!
I was worried that episode 2 would be the only episode that would truly feel like star trek, I was wrong! This episode is a masterpiece! It has tension, mystery, great acting and it is exactly what I want from a Star Trek episode! It even offers an explanation for why the holo comm was not in TOS! It still doesn't explain why it was introduced as new tech in ds-9, but it is a great step in the right direction, I actually am looking forward to the upcoming episodes as opposed to season 1. This can truly be something amazing if they keep making episodes like 2 and 4!
Vikings: Ragnarok (2019)
Power corrupts
The season has come to an end. A good season, but the god story plot was meh, I do love Ivar though and on the battlefield is where he truly shines! He had to rule with fear because if anyone saw him as weak (easier because he is a cripple), they would simply take the throne, I understand why he had to, but still didn't like it. I just wanna see the sons of Ragnar fight christians and not settle down, but what we got was still great! Intense battle sequences, cannot wait for season 6!
Star Trek: Discovery: New Eden (2019)
THIS IS STAR TREK
This is the best episode in the show so far, it really felt like Star Trek, mystery, not focused on just a single character, loved it! Hope they keep this up
Bumblebee (2018)
True to the art style and lore!
While I am happy with what Michael Bay has done to transformers up to last knight (awesome fighting sequences and Steven Jablonsky got us some insanely good soundtracks), this really is the best transformers movie in the franchise. I could tell for the most part who the autobots and decepticons were just by looking at them and I loved it! This movie has action, humor, sad scenes and pretty much everything you'd expect from a transformers movie! The only drawback is the forgetable music, I can understand wanting to move on from Jablonsky, but the music was not memorable at all. Other than that I loved it, looking forward to more!
Red Dead Redemption II (2018)
A graphical marvel, but...too slow.
Basically what the title says. The graphics and attention to detail is staggering! Huge bonus to be able to choose between 1st and 3rd person view too, AMAZING!! But the gameplay and general feel of the game is too slow, at least for me. There is ALOT of back and forth. The missions and activities seem extremely scripted and the game holds your hand quite alot. The gunplay is stupid, having to manually cock the hammer of the revolver is just dumb imo, prefer the gunplay in rdr1. The "random" events does not seem random at all, more like "triggered by proximity". The story itself is decent enough, I am only about 20 hours in, still at chapter 2, but when I got a certain mission in which I needed to steal horse carriages I simply did not feel like playing anymore. The main protagonist is an ass, same as the rest of the gang, don't really care for any of them. Fast travel is the same as rdr1 (which was trash) and it just makes the smallest missions seem like a chore because you need to ride 3km to shoot something and ride back to get a new mission, I suppose u could make camp and then fast travel, but why not simply do it like witcher 3 or AC Odyssey? A better fast travel system is what this game needs. Shame really, I want to like it, but too clunky controls, boring missions and slow horse has made me quit playing.
Vikings: The Lost Moment (2018)
Love blinds...
Ivar is being used and he does not realize that yet, but I hope he does. Alex os a great actor. What really gets me excited is Hvitserks defiance of Ivar, I am definetly sensing something here, cannot wait for the next episode
The 100: Pandora's Box (2018)
Yet another epic episode
I am at a loss for words. It is so great. The acting, the music and.....plot is so amazing.
Vikings: Moments of Vision (2018)
In medias res, not really what I was hoping for
In case you do not know what "in medias res" is, it's a form of storytelling where you jump right into the action and then go back and forth. I can understand why they did it with all the visions going on, but I would've prefered a chronological order. We've got some GREAT fighting scenes and yet I do miss some duels, where is the giant clash between BROTHERS? Everything was kind of messy, but still enjoyable. We finally see Rollo, he is on his way to Kattegat!! I cannot wait for Season 5B because this story is not yet over and hopefully we can get those duels between the brothers then, if not, we will see Ivar vs Alfred the great, I do however feel that they will wait until season 6 for that storyline.
Vikings: A Simple Story (2018)
The "calm" before the storm *Huge spoilers, read at your own discretion*
The battle does not continue and that is to be expected, they need to regroup and prepare. There is ALOT going on, Ivar and Harald gain support from the Franks now and the final battle will hopefully be epic! Floke and Kjetil must deal with Eivind, but Floke does not want to turn to violence, after the ending scene however.... anything can happen! The most shocking thing in this episode was Aethelwulf's death, some view it as bad writing, but being stung by a bee is deadly if you are allergic, even today! It was very unexpected, but you could tell that Aethelwulf knew right away what was gonna happen after he got stung. Not all deaths have to be meaningful, it adds realism to the series. I cannot wait for the final episode of Season 5A and to see Ivar and Bishop Heahmund going up against eachother. Truly, this battle can go either way! Alfred is also king now, so season 5B will be spectacular.
Vikings: The Joke (2018)
Mayhem!
The civil war has begun and I am getting more conflicted as the minutes go on. I do not want any of the brothers to die, if only Lagertha could sacrifice herself it would be great!! This was a fantastic episode, great battle with Ivar actually as the underdog, I am more than pleased and I'm looking forward into seeing if Ivar can actually do this, because at the moment it is not looking good!
Vikings: Full Moon (2018)
Build-up episode
Bjørn is back in Kattegat and finds himself empty, he no longer loves Torvi and doesn't really have a home, he wants to explore, but other peoples actions have forced him to stay. The scenes between Ivar and Heahmund are so great, I love it. Alfred is also growing as a character and his scenes at lindisfarne was FANTASTIC! Overall the episode is basically a build-up episode with a couple of really great scenes, I cannot wait for next week's episode :)
