Finally a Justice League movie I can watch with my kids.
15 June 2014
Lately the animated movies coming out are not suitable for children, with all the blood and swearing. I'm glad DC finally put something out that I can watch with my younger children. There are plot holes, but no worse than a Michael Bay movie.

It's good, clean, fun.

I still wish it was more along the lines of the Justice League cartoon, which was entertaining for children and adults.

Note: I saw another review bad mouth the character of "Karate Kid." I'd just like to point out that DC Comics introduced Karate Kid in 1966, so I figure it's about time he showed up in an animated film.

Super Buddies (2013 Video)

Kids will love it, Parents will suffer through it.
26 April 2014
I randomly came across this movie. My son (3 years) loves super heroes and dogs, so I thought he would love it. I was right, he loves it. He says it's the best movie ever!

I think the acting is pretty awful and I can't stand the dog that talks like what an adult thought early kids in the nineties sounded like.

This must be what John Ratzenberger does with his time, when he's not doing voices for PIXAR.

Go ahead and watch it with your kids, if they're young and enjoy movies about dogs. However, remember that the acting is about as good as you average student film.

Avatar (2009)

Looks good, weak plot.
4 February 2010
At first I was amazed by the visuals in Avatar. It is beautiful, but that plot is lacking. I was a bit disappointed with the fact that, while the movie looks very good, the plot is bland and clichéd. The target audience is obviously teenagers, this movie looks like it was made for children because of the beautiful visuals and easy to follow plot, but it really isn't because of the violence and language.

If you're wondering, the basic plot for James Cameron's Avatar and Disney's Pocahontas is very similar. Almost too similar.

The writing is not stunning, there are no lines in the movie that were great. The acting was fine, but not overwhelming. I'm not going to pretend I know much of anything about cinematography or anything like that.

I am in awe that it has made so much money. The storyline is lame and it feels like you are been lectured to for 160 minutes about the environment. Which reminds me it is about 40 minutes too long.

In summary: This movie is visually spectacular and intellectually boring.

Should be called Joel Schumacher's Phantom of the Opera
14 February 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I have no idea how Joel Schumacher could take such a wonderful production and turn it into a piece of garbage. I can't believe the changes Joel made: the chandelier scene was changed (and because of this one of the songs was changed too), there was a sword fight, Erik grew up in a freak show, the Masquerade was all black and white (in the song they make mention of all the colors) and Raoul was made out to be some kind of hero. What was Joel Schumacher thinking? If it was going to be called Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, make it Andrew Lloyd Webber's, and not Joel Schumacher's. I've read some comments about how Gerard Butler did a terrible job and I would agree, but it is far from my number 1 complaint. He is not the best singer and he was way too young. My biggest complaint would have to be the sword fight. If Erik wanted Raoul dead ,at that time, he would've lassoed him.
