The House (2017)
Ironically... Ferrel was right.
The line that best speaks of this movie is the one in which Scot-Ferrel-mentions Bill Murray along with a warning about disrespecting such a comedian ... The script (?) is right to show us a society where everything is turned around, but there is nothing funny in the way this is told about this rather improbable story . Only a couple of laughs do not make a comedy. The result is unfortunate.
Wind River (2017)
A hard and emotional film... recommended
It is first and foremost a drama, framed in circumstances of a police character; life in Lander is difficult, not anyone can adapt, and the possibility of losing sanity is as vast as the landscape. Everyone seems to be on their own, especially the few women; all this constitutes a dangerous territory where to survive is everything; solving a crime there is a long and tortuous process, youth seems lost, the middle-aged burden with painful memories and the elderly are already resigned. Different authorities and their jurisdictions are another problem; when there is nothing left but to go to the FBI, a young and inexperienced agent arrives to find realities that she does not even imagine .. she will be helped by a local hunter who carries with his own pains; together they will go on an adventure that will involve more than solving a crime . Neither will be the same when everything ends. Highly recommended film, with good performances and a relentless atmosphere like Lander's weather .
It (2017)
Mr. King congratulated Muschietti, what else?
Emotionally closer to the book, the director only changes here the order of some facts to tell his own version of the novel; I think he has achieved a film that stands for itself, a film for adults where the protagonists are children. It is about the end of innocence and the beginning of a dark and gloomy age, the world that awaits them when they grow up.
The Limehouse Golem (2016)
Elegant and dark, but ...
I mean : really? are you all telling me you didn't notice who's the murderer right from the start? Come on ... even if you let yourself go watching with the best intentions,so the script have a serious flaw in that sense; the rest is pleasant, even the last minutes, when there is no surprise at all about what I said before. On the other hand, the cast is really good.Regards from B.A.
The Good Catholic (2017)
Very good movie, but that "end"...
A lot to think about, that's what this film gives you;there will be laughs, and also tense and sad moments;my friends and I had an interesting discussion after watching it, but most of all :no one liked the end ... frustrating ...you see, there's a lot of stories with 'open ends',and most of the times it works; as for this one, we all wanted to see EVERYTHING on the screen, without having to decipher anything at all.Wren Schmidt is lovely here;Glover:finest work ever;Mcginley, hilarious as usual but also moving(must see);Spicer was a revelation to us: very good acting.Don't miss this film!
