Rather surprising but still MCU
4 September 2021
At first, it felt like I am watching not a MCU movie: it felt just different.

Clearly, Shang-Chi targets the China Market and invites us to embrace the Chinese culture and suddenly, I liked that part about the movie. I've watched few Chinese movies and yet I like this one a lot.

Pros: Cool action, scenes and music. Actually a decent plot. A thorough backstory (given the movie runtime).

Cons: What I really dislike in recent MCU movies is that there is always that one person who is damn silly and ridiculous but is never fun for me: they are always apparent and it's totally clear what's their role in the movie - to make you laugh by their silly jokes and them being sort of 'the third wheel'. I feel cringe. Sorry.

Speaking of visuals and unique creations: it didn't impress me. Instead, it felt somewhat underwhelming. I am not saying it was terrible but I definitely seen better VFX production in the MCU and my expectations are higher than what we get in Shang-Chi.

In conclusion, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings impressed me and at the same time slightly disappointed me.

In the end, it was just a good one for me.

The Boys (2019– )
10/10
Marvellous
27 December 2019
Just finished watching The Season 1. It was totally great and I entirely relished the show. So excited for The Season 2!

First of all, «The Boys» is not just that another «S» series, implying that they're in good faith, all saint and blessed, as it has been a tendency for now. The show's aim is to prove it all wrong - to paint the «S» in a bad light and to reveal who they really are. Sure, they might have some extraordinary and, in fact, tremendous abilities. Nevertheless, having such a «gift» doesn't necessarily mean that the person who's got it, is doing right.

«The Boys» is definitely more focused on human beings, rather than the superheroes - the latter got about 25-30 of total screen time. Meaning that, the show is much more of «a human in the world where there are superheroes», rather than «we have a supe, let's make a story based on them». «The Boys» sheds a new light on, in particular, a superhero (-es) based series, showing it (in) the way you never expect them to behave.

Having said that, «The Boys» is an outstanding title with a cunning plot. It's the new kind of experience of watching a superhero cinema; a bit more realistic, and reasonable, in a way.

Still amazing, more silly jokes and chaos on the screen!
6 December 2019
Before going to the cinema to see «The Next Level» of Jumanji, I rewatched the first movie, just to refresh my memory. And after watching the new one, I must say - it wasn't underwhelming at all!

In addition to what the first film brought, new «Jumanji» has:
  • more jokes;
  • a whole lot of new characters;
  • a fresh look at the existing characters;
  • plenty of new locations and thus, much more adventures;
  • an absolute muddle of what's happening on the screen;
  • and yes, even more jokes!

Given the above, it's time to wrap it up - «Jumanji: The Next Level» is a solid following of a 2017's movie. It's all about laughter, fun, amusement and adventures, of course. In case if you seen «Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle» and enjoyed it, the new «Next Level» won't let you down.

Welcome To Jumanji!
6 December 2019
Jumanji is perfectly awesome; genuinely enjoyed it. I find this movie very entertaining, because:

1) It's relevant to me as a young person as if I've been thru (most of) what's happening on the screen myself; 2) The characters are genuine and you empathize them pretty much all the time; 3) There are some useful and teaching stuff throughout the title, which is a big plus to the plot; 3) Personally, I love Karen Gillan's character and herself, she's so enchanting and pretty and sexy; 4) It is all about fun and laughter; you are never going to get bored watching Jumanji!

With that said, I wholeheartedly and sincerely adored Jumanji and thus, give it a 9. Jumanji is a decent way to spend your time, especially when it comes to your family and the one(s) you love.

Snatch (2000)

It never gets old, watching this movie over and over again.
1 December 2019
The title is just fantastic. From the very second of watching you realize that the next couple of hours are going to be extremely splendid and great.

Cool acting, amazing plot, fabulous storytelling... I can go on and on and on. You won't see redundant characters in the shot; every person and action has its impact on the plot.

Add some dark humor, cynicism, gambling, insulting, quite of a murdering, a couple of not-very-smart guys and a dog... Featuring Brad Pitt & Jason Statham - Snatch is a must watch movie for everyone.

Finished The Season 2, Just Like The Season 1, Absolutely Brilliant.
12 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Adored the whole season. The show's just amazing and retains the vibe of the S1.

Alyssa's still this selfish and impertinent gal, who sometimes tries to be normal and slowly but surely realizes who she actually is.

James's still this pliant guy who still loves Alyssa and is vigilant about her, no matter what gifts the life is gonna dump on him.

The new action character, who is played by Naomi Ackie, fully fits into the style of the show. She is a freak, a weirdo, just like the other two, but in her own, genuine way. Not gonna spoil much about her, though.

That being said, the S2 successfully continues the disastrous events of the S1, making the show absolutely fabulous.

Might've been worse, yet, it's fine
31 October 2019
As a huge Terminator fan, I am rather fine than dissatisfied with Dark Fate.

Reviews are full of hatred and devastation... Apparently, I wasn't expecting a legendary T-movie as if we were talking about T-1 and T-2. You can't touch them and you shouldn't. Though Dark Fate puts its events after T-2, it can't be matched with the other two Big T-s.

Yes, there are plenty of clichés in the plot and all of them are painfully boring. Sure, there are some gaps and theory-craft moments, but still. Maybe it's just me... Yet, I was expecting worse. Much, much worse.

In fact, Dark Fate is more like Action + Terminator, rather than Terminator + Action. All in all, the movie is fine. If you are a big T-fan, just give it a go. I'm sure, you are gonna be AT LEAST okay with it.
