The Dunes (2021)
Ridiculous
Terrible acting.
Silly premise. So much in it either makes no sense at all. So much goes unanswered.
Like who was buried in the backyard? And why?
What happened to the body after police turned up?
Why on earth would the police do nothing except try to accuse the writer?
Did the body even get taken away or just left in the backyard?
Why did the unwanted visitor not simply kill the writer rather than go to all the other bother?
What happened to the writer's father?
This film is made in 2021. Whoever made it would do well to watch a few episodes of 'Vera'! At least some forensics might have been useful. Instead, writer and old girlfriend just cuddled up in the sofa.
Frankly I'm glad the writer died. Put us both out of our misery.
The Outsider (2020)
Started well.
Ben Mendelssohn is always wonderful. And the music is spooky. But for me that's about it.
But we are now up to episode 7 and nothing has really happened since the first episode.
I know Stephen Kings books are horror, but I wish somebody would put me out of my misery and just tell me the ending.
No Easy Days (2018)
Wooden
I thought this was made in the 1980s when I started watching.
Awful acting. Lots of people standing around doing nothing when they are supposed to be in responsible positions.
Pathetic, ridiculous story line.
A teenage girl holding out to torture? I don't think so.
I could,go,on and on, but it's wasting my time and yours.
Ice (2011)
What were these actors thinking???
Gets two stars because the actors turned up, and there is some semblance of addressing the issue of climate change.
Dialogue and acting is appalling. And Roxburgh's English accent a joke. Why couldn't he simply have been an Australian scientist?
Cringe worthy.
