RoboCop (2014)
An excellent film in its own right
I wrote this film off and didn't watch it until now (7 years later) as I lived the original Robocop.
However, this is actually a great film in its own right, it has a different storyline to the original and is far less graphically violent, but it is still a great film. It's far better than the rubbish that American studios are making in the 2020s. It's the best Hollywood film I've seen in years.
Sexify (2021)
Terrible woke Netflix show
Firstly it must be said this politically correct Netflix production has the worst soundtrack I have ever heard on any TV show ever, truly it's incredible how bad the music is. Somebody actually decided to add this soundtrack, it shows how little taste & class Netflix has at the moment.
I tried to like the TV show, but unfortunately once again political correctness and obvious woke messages throughout the show make it almost unwatchable. I hope this tv show doesn't reflect the reality of life in Poland, if it does then they're in trouble.
I'm not sure if they're attempting to make a semi comedy with this tv show, the fact that I'm not sure demonstrates how bad the story line and acting are. I watched the entire series... I'm a masochist it appears. Save your time, it didn't improve in fact it gets a lot worse.
Please God, Netflix, stop making ultra woke productions like this which lack a story, the obvious political messaging is embarrassing and will turn people off eventually.
Back to Life (2019)
Absolute rubbish.
It comes across as entirely fake. It appears to have been made for Americans, either that or a moronic woke audience of people who have never set foot outside London. To pretend that somehow everyone knows everyone in a modern British city is frankly ridiculous. It ticks all the woke inclusivity boxes and makes constant woke elitist remarks. It's about as funny as a party political broadcast.
It truly is a shame that entertainment is no longer produced on British TV.
The Good Lord Bird (2020)
"Woke" rubbish
All of the over the top reviews gushing about this show instantly raised red flags, I was afraid it would be woke propaganda to fit a present day political narrative and unfortunately that's exactly what it is.
This is just another example of distortion and lies being peddled as true fact.
Bosch (2014)
American crap.
Nothing else needs saying.
American crap.
Pretending to be something extra, but in reality it's utter drivel.
Wild Rose (2018)
Country not western - Julie Walters is best
It's a better than average film, the acting is good (except the rich family who are all pretty dire except the Dad who is convincing but was only given a few lines in the film).
Jessie Buckley the lead actress does a good job but her mother, Julie Walters, steals the show in my opinion.
The storyline is OK, but it's not exactly original. If you have some time to kill it can't hurt to spend it watching this.
Line of Duty (2012)
Series 1 excellent, series 2 good - Corrupt cops who investigate corrupt cops
I like the fact that there are no goodies on this programme. The more you watch it you realise that the stars of the show are not just as corrupt as those they are investigating... they are actually even worse!
Series 1 was amazingly good, it was impossible to guess which way the story would go. Series 2 continued in the same vein with a great new character (Denton) - it dropped in quality in the last couple of episodes and the ending became almost slightly disappointing as nothing really unexpected happened.
Hopefully series 3 goes back to the quality levels of the first series, perhaps they could kill off one of the members of AC12 like DS Steve Arnott (only because he is the weakest actor on the programme).
Mission: Impossible II (2000)
Without doubt one of the worst films I have ever seen
I actually paid good money to see this film at the cinema. To say I disliked this film really does not go far enough, I truly hated it. Normally I can find a positive out of a film and I like films of all genres, especially good action films.
This film was surrounded with a lot of marketing hype at the time it was released in the UK about how it was a fantastic John Woo action movie packed with excitement. The "action" scenes were what disappointed me the most, they would have been laughable apart from the fact that this film took itself so seriously.
Most of all this film was boring, boring, boring! Not what you want or expect from any action film. I can accept no plot and bad acting as long as there is some half-decent action in a film. This film was just dull and irritating with terrible action scenes (the motorbike chase scene is just stupid).
I think this film must be Cruise's worst hour, even if he tried to act worse I don't think it would be possible. The more I think about this film the more I realise it was probably the worst film I have ever seen.
I'm not being spiteful, I enjoyed Woo's Face Off and I thought Cruise was good in The Last Samurai. I just don't think they should ever team up to work on a film together ever again.
