Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
You won't get it back
That's 3 hours plus I won't get back ...hopefully there's not a directors cut on its way. Whilst the visuals were on another planet so to speak, I wondered in no particular order - where was Jack and Rose? , 'why so serious?' How can someone in a stranglehold asphyxiate under water ? And was this a bloated and dull version of 'Free Willy' set on Pandora? A talking whale asking 'how was the baby?' Was another popcorn choking moment. After the first groundbreaking Avatar and following 13 years of thought and development, the result was disappointing, surely a story first not a series of predictable links.
Count Me In (2021)
Great insight ....but no Neil
Enjoyed the insight and how the film was put together....but like a lot of reviews I have to mention the lack of any reference of Neil Peart ....who without doubt was the finest drummer of his generation and genre.
The Boys (2019)
Is it the best?
Is the first episode of the first series , the best opening of any box set? Just rewatched brilliant!
Shadow and Bone (2021)
...just got better and better..
Started slow , but built brilliantly. A lot of thought and hard work obvious in its screenplay.
The Expanse (2015)
Season 5
Continues where it left off ... fantastic , immersive , expansive and engaging. Hats off to all ...
Mr Calzaghe (2015)
Welsh Dragon
This documentary film will stand the test of time and should be reference point for any young athlete in what ever sport they represent. An extraordinary piece of film making that took you to the heart of an incredible man, why he succeeded and to the people around him and the critical roles they played. The greatest boxer Wales and Great Britain has ever produced.
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
Patience is needed
Started slowly but finished really well. Enjoyed the evolution of the characters and the the arc of the story.
As Good as It Gets? (2018)
Essential Viewing
It's not often you watch a documentary where the passion and humanity of its central players shines through with an honesty and an integrity . It serves as a piece of art , historical record and a riveting experience. It stands as a template for all that is great about sport , teamwork ,honour and trust that all should learn from. Truly inspirational- congratulations to all involved from behind and in front of camera.
