Cosmic Sin (2021)
Another cash-grab by the writers and Bruce
This is just trash made by Edward Drake along with Corey Large for their partner-in-crime Bruce Willis. Edward and Corey have been dumping out piles of garbage for Bruce to act in for the last four years.
I called it too, the "funny guy" with a lot of bad dialog was one of the writers, Corey. If you've seen the movie already you know exactly which character I'm talking about. If you haven't seen it yet, you will know who this is immediately. Looking at IMDB, he writes himself into every movie they've done so far.
If you're looking for a bad movie to watch, this one is nice and painful for those who enjoy well thought-out stories. The visuals are fine. It's the dialog, plot, pacing, and costumes that will make you suffer, truly.
This movie is not "so bad that it's good", it's just bad.
Bobby's Triple Threat (2022)
Surprising enjoyable
The password gimmick is odd, but ultimately I like that there's an attempt to add a feeling of "this is a secret competition" to the show. I've never liked cooking shows before, but the "points" element kept me wondering if they could pull it off.
I see other reviews disliking how Bobby intervenes in the show, helping the titans, but it always came across as "the devil giving minor hints to his demons" but not literally doing the "dirty work" of cooking. I like to cheer for the underdog and so it's nice when the challenger overcomes a slightly unfair fight.
Happy new viewer, enjoying the show.
Star Trek: Short Treks: Runaway (2018)
A lot of Tilly
I'm not a fan of the character Tilly, so having to spend 15 minutes with her was tough. She goes from making normal decisions that anyone would make to decisions that no one would make like a rollercoaster of bad writing one would expect from a stream-of-consciousness approach that lacks any edits. Honestly, I could feel each major idea the writers wanted to make like I was forced over a hurdle of bullet points from an outline of the episode.
Would I watch this episode again? Never.
Do I regret watching it? I guess not? I suppose I'm just glad that it was only 15 minutes long. Honestly, though, this could have easily been a side plot during an episode where two other characters learn to work together or the crew discovers some artifact floating in space or anything to give me some time away from Tilly. Like I started with, this was just too much Tilly for too long.
Cloud Atlas (2012)
Something akin to indescribable
You might wonder what art is with regard to movies, what it may mean to have an idea, to describe it in such a way that it may exist after viewing. This movie is art. It is an idea that must be viewed. Do not be distracted, for each idea works its way to the next, pushing the plot forward, changing the experience, keeping you engaged. Be open to the abstract but also to the obvious. Enjoy.
Tenet (2020)
Progressively better
As the movie continues, you will find yourself entranced. This movie is worth watching if you want to see a thought-provoking, ever-progressing plot that is both interesting and unexpected. This is the kind of movie I look forward to watching again.
