Fantasy for keeping denial in kidults
27 April 2023
This tv series wanna be included in that new trend of denying history to make the new generations of kidults (or snowflakes) happy cos the true version of acts would be too harsh for their made-of-glass psyche.

The series shows England in the verge of the Georgian era in which black people are a part of the GENTRY, what obviously is a historical untruth. It's one of the leftist new trend of history revision and we can see here a practical application of that peculiar mindset.

It might be hard to accept but unfortunately that time wasn't a period of blessed tolerance, diversity and inclusiveness. Instead of being a snowflake & kidult who is unable to accept the harsh historical reality, it would be better to learn sth from previous eras to avoid such situations in our future what would also be in line with a well-known Latin saying - historia magistra vitae.

Nevertheless, to be honest and fair about that movie story, I must say that its plot can be pleasing many people who do like all period drama movies.

It contains (at least in season one) a mystery which is developed slowly but still gives fun of watching the series.

Degenerated teens hopefully not as a norm in the U.S.
5 August 2022
The whole issue is about what group is shown. Sb could have shown a group of drug dealers, and gangstas among non-white people leading to a conclusion that the coloured people in the U. S. are generally like that. There have been lots of movies with portraying made in this way. It can only distort somebody's perception if doesn't have smart & balanced views about reality as well as that basic knowledge what cognitive biases are.

His movies getting worse and worse
29 May 2022
What was the purpose of this movie? Only Argento knows.

In his older movies at least there was some story and a secret to be revealed gradually.

But this one it's just a below-mediocre film with a simple story and a villain who's shown quite quickly.

Psychologica motifs are around just being a psycho with no deeper reasons, neither childhood trauma, nor envy & revenge.

When a movie like that is ripped off from any mystery and psychological background them we get another made-for-TV movie with average or below average EVERYTHING.

It's sad but Argento's films have been worsening with his age but as I've heard he becomes more valuable as an actor so maybe that's a new chapter in his life.

Another comedy horror ... mediocre of course
22 May 2022
I thought it was intended to make a much more murky chapter of this franchise with less or no comedy inclinations.

The creators didn't have any ambition of making a true horror, dark slasher with thriling scenes like every horror is intended to be as per definiton.

But no - comedy-horror-like style must go on.

Motives of the Ghost-face killer (no has a name and a registered trademark) seemed to make an interesting story yet it turned into a rubbish something which I don't wanna reveal as a potential spoiler.

All those references to other parts of the Scream franchise as well as to other slasher horrors made dialogues quite comical what eventually caused a complete crack of the whole structure of the whole structure which constitutes the framework of a good horror.

Yeah, and once again - a good HORROR, but not any comedy something with horror motives.

I swear that even another episodes of remakes of "Freddy Krueger" or "Halloween" were way better considered than this part, a bad omen for the style of next chapters.

Quite RIDICULOUS but could have been a good story if true cine-masters got to it
21 November 2021
Many ridiculous pseudo-dramatic & psychological things were included here. This story could have been good but it all went haywire.

LOVE - the woman being in love but she rejects the man due to her other expectations based on her fantasies about his life rather than knowing him entirely. If sb is in love then doesn't reject the other for such a childish reasons but she should have supported him on his way of transition of his lifestyle and by discovering or better recalling his talents.

That's a good example of C. G. Jung's psychology and the theme of wearing a mask (persona). Everybody would help the beloved one instead of rejecting him/her for reasons of his lifestyle and occupation.

CHANGE - everyone should know that applying a change in sb's life may be difficult, may require additional development and improvements of many things. It just needs time as mostly a transition can't be done just like that by casting away everything and going out from the office. The protagonist needs some cash flow to live and to be able to invest in himself what's involved with having money. That vision may be luring and appealing for people desperately wanting to change their life but the reality may be harsh.

The only one SIN of the protagonist could be like that he didn't do anything for years to come even closer to his dream work and lifestyle. However, there's shown an old atory teller who lives in poverty thus it might be a case to consider if sb wants to avoid mistakes which would transform a dream into a nightmare.

Finally, if true MASTERS of cinema would have got down to this story they could have squeezed sth good from it but nothing like that happened in case of this movie.

A regular action film, not too much like the comics book
12 November 2021
If sb didn't know it's based on the comics it would be treated as a regular action movie.

Not too much from stories in the comics book.

Great they made a true movie and tv series.

A WEAK remake with ethnic issues focus
28 October 2021
The first movies were at least truly thrilling as well as the story was disturbing.

This time they didn't show their skills in creation of this whole story which was intended to say sth about ethnical issues, the white "gentry", ghettos etc.

It's all not enough to be even close to the original movie franchise where - as we can see by comparing - they built quite nice thrilling , disturbing and scary story.

NAIVE with psychologically poor themes
30 May 2021
If a good director and screen writer had taken the steering sth good could have been extracted from this whole movie.

Apparently the movie was targeted for teenagers so they didn't want to create anything too complicated and overly psychologised.

They showed some well known themes in life of marriages, families and teens' issues. The major concern are their motivations, super fast change of mood, changing negative emotions and thoughts to positive just like that. It's well known that if an anger has been accumulated for years then a quick change of thoughts, opinion from bad to good is very unlikely.

Issues which existed for years need to be reworked and reprocessed what takes time and emotional effort.

In this movie everything happens too quickly as the script was designed with poor psychological considerations as the creators didn't need to release anything well thought but sth mediocre was just fine.

If they could remake this movie with an intention of telling sth deeper about the life and relations, it would be truly great.

Not more bad than other similar TV thrillers
17 April 2021
I watched this movie keeping in mind those negative ratings.

The movie is not more bad than all these TV thrillers served to viewers where plot is mostly so damn simple, even nonsensical at most of times, where all goes directly to the end without any interesting "catch".

If a good screen writer got that story could create sth way better from it. The story had a potential where plot twists were possible to be made in order to give a good suspense to viewers.

When we use a theme of illusions, personality dissociation or psychotic issues we can "assemble" various options to surprise the viewers and build a more complex plot.

As always in a bad movie there are left many points without answers, with shady clues what makes that whole fable pointless as it should lead to some conclusion.

If not Coppola, not these actors I could think it's a Hallmark production
1 February 2021
If had been more developed it might have been a way more interesting rather than a straight & simple story from S.Coppola. There would be needed Tennessee Williams to create sth really meaningful or just Coppola should recall her skills she showed in "Lost in translations". That kinda story like "On the rocks" would be much more appropriate for Hallmark movies. To me it was too simple, no plot twists to make it more interesting or at least true psychological contemplations. If there will be more movies like this one Apple may become another Hallmark with Xmas movies production line-up i.e. simple, meaningless, completely negligible.

Just average in comparison to this theme movies
25 January 2021
After movies like Interatellar, Contact, Martian or Ad Astra, this one is just average. They didn't serve viewers even a bit interesting story with some conclusion. They should have remembered that after all those famous top-tier sci-fi films people wanna see sth truly interesting, some story which leads to philosophical conclusions and considerations and all garnished with a variety of emotions.

Embarrassingly bad
5 January 2021
This plot is so bad, illogical that it's hard to believe sb could "invent" that kinda foolish story. Firstly a hottie like Paris wouldn't be around a girl who's appearance would be like that also a girl who has personal hygiene big issues. They could have created quite nice script but this one is a total mistake. There are silly comedies for teens but there must be some limits of foolishness or maybe the creators targeted people with null taste regarding movies.

Fine until that shameful non-genuine ending
21 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It could have been a very nice screening of one of the greatest Tenneessee Williams's plays however it all went terribly wrong at the very end. The end which is quite sad, dramatic was turned into a typical candy sweet Hollywood ending where everybody receives what was dreaming of. No bitterness, no regrets, no vague future - literally nothing what created that dramatic ending of the original Williams's play. The end of this play is like that and if sb wanna maintain it as a true drama then should go along with the original story line

Incomplete & boring story
17 December 2020
If sb wanna make that kind of movies then it should be a complete story which is developed gradually. It also should have some emotional charge. That distincts good directors and screen writers to the bad ones. This story is incomplete, with loopholes and its emotions were quite poor, all leading to a very average story for a B-type TV movie.

What was the purpose of this movie?
23 November 2020
This film had a potential to become a nice story however it's execution was terrible. A complete mess in story telling where a viewer asks -"who is who?" and "what's this all about?". Initially it was supposed to tell a story of a tragical end of minister Debski but it all went haywire. Finally we see some people, some characters and it is all purposeless, it leads to nothing. The story is empty and makes viewers perplexed only.

A Rebel driving his dad's lux lux Merc
2 August 2020
A typical kiddo (and a group of other similar kids) feeling entitled and treating everything as granted and "normal" i.e. driving his dad's lux Merc, having Apple's electronic gadgets, traveling wherever wants to, etc. This is one of problems nowadays with all these kiddos of that kind. He says wanna be and do what he badly wants to but no one has a clue what it is. No passion or direction in him. Actually it needs to be said that he is on a route to discover the real himself without any external supervision. It also referfs to many of the other 17-y-o pseudo adults who have to make life decisions but actually are on their way to know who they are and what wanna do in their next decades of life. In case of youngsters who had specific interests and talents visible for years then it is much more easier and their direction is not that vague ... at least it's what is seems cos life can bring many surprises. He difinitely needed a mentor who could show him some directions and help in understanding many difficult life issues. The other hard issue shown it's that the education in the Ivy League it's the only one way to achieve so-called "success". Life and work as a non-graduate is impossible in this weird logic.

Grotesque problems of the 1st-world people
25 May 2020
If u compare these issues shown in this movie - societal, mental insecurities, paranoia, and then you see what's going on in countries where people cannot fulfill the basic needs all these becomes truly pathetic. It's neither a solid drama nor good thriller. Without a good psychological background, dialogues etc. all those "problems" became delusive and funny with its "serious issues".

Trashy movie for rustic polish disco lovers
23 February 2020
This movie was made based on money of taxpayers and the creators wanted to get it done as soon as possible to release the movie on Feb, 14th The Valentine's Day. When you make a film for that reason then you can get that kind of "clammy" movie where all was planned and created to meet a deadline. This is like a mass production of everyman cars - faat, cheap, with no concept, lack of artistic values. That story is so trashy that even music of the main hero is not present as a viewer might expect and paradoxically it was intended to be a bio movie.

Flat emotions & no passion destroyed everything
7 January 2020
I have had some level of expectations from this film after reading a description and its plot seemed to be quite interesting. However all has turned into a quite drowsy film with slow action which was promised to be very different. Instead of emotional and passionate relation and even more ardent rivalry with complex scheme of mutual interactions we get a snail-paced development of the plot and two teens who are way too introvertic and timid to be truly passionate in anything. I didn't see here any hard situations with rivalry and any difficult situations, misunderstandings etc. caused by that. For sure not at the level it was expected (and promised) from the beginning. That story could have been interesting if had been directed in more clever and especially emotional way to reveal true passion if two lovers mixed with success & accolade rivalry. If I wanna see passion plus rivalry which leads to obsession I play movies like "Whiplash" or "Prestige".

Techno-Doll on a killing spree - great story!
21 October 2019
1988-a ghost of a villain in a doll was on a killing spree and in 2019 we've got techno doll on a killing spree. The doll that has some kinda artificial intelligence but it is very superficial and without extended, profound understanding of ethics the pseudo-values become completely sinister and psychopathic. The other issue well depicted in this movie is that so-called big tech companies entwin us with their various products and services, infiltrate excessively our life what (very likely) may turn against us and show its dark side.

They keep quality of the 1st part. Worth watching!
25 September 2019
Yeah, quality of the 1st part is maintained to its top level. We have here two great actors of Hollywood action movies - Matthew Karedas and Tommy Wisseau what makes that movie truly supreme and extreme.

A tragedy wearing a comic mask from time to time
6 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
About this film I can say that it's a tragedy wearing a comedy mask from time to time and that what makes people excited about it. There are not too many intelligent comedies and especially tragic comedies but this one exceeds all expectations. A guy with disintegrated personality and a life with vague purpose who is more like a kidult still growing up mentally. And what about his parents? His father, an obsessive, perfectionistic relentless man and a mother with too soft personality. This film shows this general truth that a chance and much time to change sb's entire life is not given to everybody and we may not have this time for us as our life is very fragile. It's quite sad movie showing sad truths but we definitely should say that it's also like a true diamond among many shining fake glass.
