Halloween (2007)

Two versions of the same era
21 October 2019
If you grew up in the 70's you would know there were two different realities happening. The Halloween of 1978 is a suspense tale of Michael becoming the Boogeyman for no specific reason, just a one off in society. The Zombie remake shows a Michael that is the result of his surroundings. Yes the Zombie version is a lot grimier than the original but it still ring true. Depending on my mood decides which version I watch. Optimistic, the Original, tired of society, Zombie's version wins!

Real review by a real guy
15 May 2019
I have seen reviews that praise this movie and ones that tear it apart. For me it is a beautifully filmed move with ok acting. Those not exposed to foreign films may not get the whole story. It is surprising a film from China could deal with an end of the world moment. Michael Bay on steroids it is but there is a visual aspect that most end of the world movies miss. It is the best of the genre? No. Is it a movie that you can watch more than once? Yes! Ignore all these he Kenneth Turan, film school wanna be's and people who would likely complain that their scallops or risottos are not perfect and just watch the movie. Not perfect but real good!

Great movie with great memories
3 January 2006
When I was 16 my Grandpa came to town early and it was just me and him. He looked at the TV Guide and started laughing. He looked at me and said one of his favorite movies was coming on. From the moment it began I was captivated. The opening sequence sets up the rest of the film. It is a very tongue in cheek movie that keeps you laughing and enjoying every minute of it. Lancaster and Cravat are one of the great film team-ups, comes from their days in vaudeville together. The film is just a good time. I was already a horror film fan at that time and was surprised to see a young Christopher Lee in it too. My grandpa was larger than life as this film is too. Everyone who has sat and watched this film with me laughs as much as I do.
