Utvandrarna (2021)
It is not the story you think of
This movie promises alot since it has borrowed its name from the epic story by V. Moberg. Although some of the characters from his book are in the film, this is another story, which is much much thinner.
Maybe it is unfair to compare with the books or the original movies from the 70s but I think this story really sucks. Filming and audio is better than the original so I give that an extra star.
Also, when you got the opportunity to make this film, you cast people with a strong, totally wrong swedish dialect that makes no sense, also, both Karl-Oskar and Kristina have bad personalities in this movie compared to the original story; removing the very important characters Danjel Andreasson and Robert/Arvid was also a mistake.
Moulin Rouge! (2001)
The worst movie I've seen
Well, some movie has to be in the very bottom of everyone's ranking list and this film is my choice for the lowest ranked movie I've ever seen.
I really don't know where to start, maybe I just hate musicals. I watched it in 2002 after the film being so hyped. I remember I felt scammed and wanted my money back.
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
Disappointing
I watched the film with titles like Inglourious Basterds, Pulp Fiction and Django Unchained in mind. Maybe that was my first mistake.
I didn't know much about Charles Manson and nothing about Sharon Tate, and that was probably my second mistake.
After 1.5 hrs I wondered when something would happen in the movie. After 2 hrs I realized that the end is almost here and about 10 minutes before the ending credits, something happened, and the reason why it happened or the story behind was far from crystal clear.
There are also long sequences/shots where you just watch Brad Pitt driving around in a car or watch a movie in the movie. You wait for something to happen but it doesn't. The camera focused on bare feet while the story was dull.
I didn't like The Hateful Eight and this film reminded me of that in some ways.
Spending about 100 Million USD on this, using actors like Pitt, DiCaprio, Al Pacino, Damian Lewis and many more seems to me like a waste of money and their talent
