Blue Bloods: The Heart of a Saturday Night (2024)
What's up with the inappropriate, ill-placed music?
Several times during this episode, the music mix is so obnoxiously loud, it drown out the dialogue. Also for transitional scenes, the music was blaring. And, for those of us who appreciate the Sunday family dinner scene, in this episode the rock genre song, not just music but with lyrics overpowered the ability to hear the family saying grace. The music choices and placement were distracting and at the close, even disrespectful and irreverent.
That said, the writing is always engaging and the performances moving. This is such an uplifting and inspirational series. It's astounding this is the last season. I hope CBS reconsiders or another network steps up. I think I speak for many in stating that everyone at our house wants more Blue Bloods!
Trust (2018)
AUTHENTIC IN EVERY WAY
When my husband asked me to watch this film, (another faith-based effort,) although I agreed to watch it I had no expectations other than that it will likely be another half- baked plot, ill-written, cheesy production, etc. As many faith-based films seem to be.
I was so wrong to pre-judge. This film was real, raw, authentic, engaging and inspiring!
It is about someone whose faith is being rocked and challenged on every front. Initially, he is resistant to all things God, but slowly and over time, he surrenders his anger, his inability to forgive, his disappointments, his bent to blame and his feelings of hopelessness to the only One who can help, redeem and restore all that's been lost or stolen.
It is well-written, well- directed, well- acted, well--produced and we even enjoyed all the song choices for the soundtrack. All components executed with excellence.
I would highly recommend, TRUST! (no pun intended) Hats off to all who had a hand in getting this one done!
