Watch for your yourself
13 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This is actually an entertaining tv show but of course you have those sensitive types that hate all shows that depict anything with race, politics etc even if it is fictional. This is not a documentary and newsflash, race and politics exist in life. This show is more than that and I suggest you judge it for yourself. I am on episode 4 and can't wait to see what happens next.

Total Garbage
27 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This is his show The Have and Have nots come to the Oval office with new faces and characters. The same old tired script over and over again but now dressed up in the White House. There are those who will worship anything Tyler Perry puts out but this is just bad. Its hard to believe this was able to find a place on television.

A knockoff of Girlfriends
27 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This is a boring remake of the show Girlfriends. I couldn't even make it through the first episode because it was boring, stiff acting and the same one dimensional characters that are just black stereotypes. Do yourself a favor and watch reruns of Girlfriends. The acting, writing and characters are better.

Binge worthy
20 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This is a good series mainly because of the jumper aspect and a few sub plots that make you want to see how the story develops. What keeps it from being a great series is the lead is not likeable and at times it appears goes out of her way to have this one dimension. I don't know why the writers thought it would be a good idea to not allow some growth for the lead from being the angry teen to someone who has grown more attached to those who are consistently there for her. The aspect that she is so rude and the others around her continue to suck up to her make their characters appear weak and unlikable too. If you can not focus on the lead but the premise of the show it is still interesting enough to binge watch. If they continue with her antics it won't make another season. Rude, obnoxious children have never been fun to watch, show some growth and develop the characters and plot.

Black Lightning (2018–2021)

Great entertainment
12 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
It appears the negative reviews are from individuals who despite having years of overseeing themselves represented as superheroes have angst against their finally being a show with a minority group to receive equal representration. With that being said, black lightning is very entertaining and represents a fresh prospective on superheroes and vilvilla. I highly recommend this show. It's not your typical DC show but there should be room for all.

Entertaining

Warning: Spoilers
I just discovered this series and I am glad I decided to ignore the negative reviews and watch if for myself. No, it's not GOT or Vikings. Both those shows have larger budgets, and less comedy. This show with its budget does have drawbacks with the quality of actors, CGI and some of the writing could improve for a more developed storyline. Despite these drawbacks it did quell my GoT itch, lol, was entertaining and delivered on plenty of action scenes. I think if it hadn't came out during the heyday of GoT it may have faired better.

This show shouldn't be compared to GoT, a more accurate comparison level would be Merlin but why compare at all. You have to learn to take what you need and leave the rest, you can suck the joy out of life and entertainment constantly comparing. Give it a try and by episode 3 you will want to finish the season.

While interesting the negative reviews are true!
14 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This is based on a true story and I have seen the story on some true crime tv show on ID network. The characters in the tv show are not likeable. The mom who has been divorced several times over just appears as a desperate , gullable, dimwit for love with a rather unhealthy parent / child relationship with her adult daughters. The oldest daughter was a failed attempt at an independent spirited woman who was portrayed more as the self-entitled, self-indulgent woman no one likes to deal with. There are numerous scenes of her just being obnoxious to anyone she comes in contact with including hard timing unnecessarily an uber driver. The youngest daughter who is an adult in her own apartment is portrayed as an annoying teenager who wines and wants her mom to treat her as a child. The storyline is interesting but there is no one to really root for in this saga which is the reason for the negative reviews. It is hard to believe any of these people exist in real life and sadder when you realize they actually do as it is a true story. Heck, even the grandmother in the story was a failed attempt at showing Christian forgiveness but appeared more of an underlying cause for some of the naive annoyance.

An Interesting watch
24 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I found this series to be entertaining and well acted. Contrary to other viewers, I think Arthur is perfectly cast. The Author in this series just discovered he was heir to the throne and is not the accomplished swordsman from other shows he is growing in to his true role as King. It isn't the Game of Thrones but then again, what show is? It is a good watch and something to get in to with Game of Thrones on hiatus.

Enjoyable show all these years later
19 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I didn't even know this show existed but recently stumbled upon it which is why I think it was canceled all those years ago. It just didn't get the advertisement at the time because the show is decent today so for the time it was created it should have been more popular. Reading some of these reviews I can only say it is a science fiction show, it is not based on reality and far to many are making literal comparisons. If you stumble upon this show judge it for yourself and for what it is, a decent science fiction program.

Do not compare this to Once Upon a Time
12 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Contains spoilers! This show is what fairytales would look like if they happened today. With that, it is dealing with issues we see in the news today. It is a very different concept from Once Upon A Time (OUAT). I am a huge fan of OUAT but I choose to judge each show on its on merit and not compare. If you compare you will be sorely disappointed. This show is about as far from OUAT as you can get which is great because who needs a knockoff.

Watch the first few episodes but please remember these are not magical beings but normal everyday people.

Entertaining movie
3 October 2018
After reading some of the 1 star reviews I began to wonder if we were watching the same movie or if they even watched this movie at all. The movie does have a plot, decent cinematography and the acting is decent. I did not read the book but I enjoyed this movie although I wasn't the target audience. Judge it for yourself and don't allow others to guide your opinion either way.

Be kind and have courage
30 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Be kind and have courage was the moral to this film adaptation of the original fairy tale. I won't go in depth and there isn't a real need to give any spoilers because if you have ever read, had the original fairytale read to you as a child then you already have all the "spoilers." This was an original fairytale brought to the big screen. There isn't some modern day twist, a different perspective but just the wholehearted goodness of the fairytale I loved as a kid. It was a reminder that though we may suffer if we endure with kindness are day will come. Cinderella isn't just about landing the Prince, it was about being kind and having courage even to those who don't treat us as they they should. If you have gotten to cynical for this concept or no longer can enjoy the original fairytales you heard as a child or worse didn't hear fairytales as a child this may not be for you.

Contains Spoilers - A flimsy plot
3 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Although I find some of the characters laughably entertaining and I like the urban style of the main actress the plot is ridiculous. To begin with, Rebel quit the police force because her fellow police officers gunned down her brother, (to include her partner who drew his gun on her brother). If her partner would never have pulled his gun then Rebel would not have shot him to prevent him from shooting her brother which subsequently led to the cops who shot him mistakenly assuming her brother actually shot her partner. Now fast forward, she quit the force to become a private investigator and I guess to show her displeasure with the incident and yet now she is working with her former partner in her investigations that was the catalyst for her brother being killed. Confusing I know. That is the fragility of the plot and the clumsy characters. This show is entertaining but only if you don't think to much!!!!

Excellent Movie Review contains spoilers
18 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
***Contains Spoilers

I finally watched this movie tonight and it was excellent. No, its not a thriller, an action adventure or a sci-fi movie, it is a movie about life. The life of a couple in the 1950's where men were viewed differently and so was the role of a woman. The acting was superb and the mentality of the main character was developed as you learned his childhood, early adulthood and all the things that led him to where he was and created a man struggling, self centered and prideful. I am a woman in her late forties and the movie is quite accurate in its depiction of the character being illiterate and believing finding a labor trade is the only real stability for a black man. It is uniquely true as well that a woman in Viola Davis role (Rose) would go along to get along and lean on the church for comfort and never consider leaving her husband. In these days women had few options and to have a man that wouldn't leave was something to cherish at all cost. You either have to have the age to understand this position or with wisdom appreciate their was a time these characters were more the norm than the exception to enjoy this movie. Not everything is for everyone but this is a glimpse back in to what was a realistic portrayal of an African American family in the 50s.
