After Life (2019)
Didn't need a season 3
This show is OK but definitely not Rickys best work. A bit overhyped imo.
I really miss the days where he worked with stephen merchant.
The show does have funny areas in the show (Joe Wilkinson is always hilarious) but the sitting on the sofa moping watching old videos of his wife gets very boring. Who films their life that much?
Season 3 didn't bring anything new. It really wasn't needed.
Worth a watch but not something I would watch again whereas I re-watch the office and extras almost yearly!
Bo Burnham: Inside (2021)
This is a masterpiece!
Just wow! I have always loved Bo Burnham's work so I always expected this to be good but it went so far beyond my expectations!!! This is an absolute masterpiece!!! It's beautiful. Its funny. Its sad. Its lonely. Its art. Great work Bo!!!
Mrs. Brown's Boys (2011)
This is an insult to British comedy
This is exactly what Ricky and Stephen were taking the mick out of in extras with 'when the whistle blows'. I honestly have never seen such an abismal show like this. It is an insult to British comedy. Its the lowest of the low. Why this is on BBC one every single Xmas day and gets high ratings is beyond me. People must be really bored with their lives.
Utopia (2020)
Why remake a masterpiece?
I tried..... I watched 5 episodes..... and I gave up.
The bristish version was amazing - the characters... the look and feel..the story line. Everything was so good. Couldn't turn it off.
The U.S version ... Seriously?!? What was that?!?
The only good thing is Rainn Wilson (how can you not love this dude) . Everything else is a waste of valuable time. Stick with the UK version if I were you!
Shameless (2004)
Was brilliant at first
I saw the first season years ago but then totally forgot about this show. Seeing it as an option on netflix I decided to give it another try and it did not disappoint. The first two seasons were soooo good followed by good season 3. It falls a bit flat after that. Being from a large family that lived on a council estate, I found this relatable.
Anne Marie Duff is brilliant. The chemistry between her character Fiona and Steve (McAvoy) kept me watching but it started to lack once they left. Maxine Peake's performance is both brilliant and hilarious so I stayed on until she left at the end of season 3.
I have got to season 5 and think I will give up now. Not the same but would definitely recommend seasons 1-3.
