Trainwreck (2015)
Another Shumer Clunker
This is another wannabe comedy that just cannot decide if it's supposed to be funny, sad, poignant, drama, melodrama or some combination I haven't yet found.
It's just not funny. Schumer always tries too hard, and I do not think she can carry a headline role at all. I loved Bill Hader during his SNL days, no one can even come close to him for one liners or the incomparable STEFAN, but even his comedic talent could not carry the role. He's overly pathetic and whining, and for a talented surgeon who ministers to the big league athletes, he falls flat on his face. There's no hint of self confidence needed for his field. He wouldn't have made it to that level of accomplishment with a zero personality needed to score the big time stuff.
I never thought of LeBron James as anything more than a superb athlete, and that comes across from his wooden, rote like performance. He needs to stick with his billion dollar meal ticket and keep passing, scoring and running down or u court.
This film is just lost in spite of the script.
Dirty Rotten Cleaners (2021)
A Joke of a show.
This is the most unprofessional and fake show on Biohazard cleaners I have ever seen. This is not how professional bio hazard folks are trained nor is it helpful in any way to the owners of these homes. Hoarding is a very serious psychiatric and or psychological illness, but these idiots think anyone literally anyone can take a bunch of bags, brooms, mops and cleansers to get stuff clean? Without identifying the triggers, the reasons this event occurs, there is nothing more than dumping trash and puking in the bushes.
What these yokels cannot address, diagnose, or treat are the reasons why this happens. It just seems like the entire series is fake and staged.
So if you don't want to watch a bunch of people doing all they can to actually spread disease and toxicity to the environment, skip this one.
My take away points: The couple of Ponce Bay? There's money there. Entitlement. Privilege. And a definite ability to get other people to clean up their crap hole of a "storage bunker". That place was and probably still is, a haven for Hanta Virus. It should be completely sanitized and then permanently sealed off. Put in a wine cellar? That woman is delusional.
Then, the one guy freaks out over the bedbugs and walks off the job. Who can blame him? Smartest dude on the crews.
I think these "bio experts" are full of stuff quite similar to the crap they get paid to haul away.
Finally, what kind of training, licensing, certification, monitoring, and disposal of material are they required to have? Insurance? Equipment? They used a shop Vac to clean out the Hanta Virus bunker. Seriously, a shop Vac???
These people are jokes and give real professionals a very bad name and reputation.
Disgusting.
A Bad Idea Gone Wrong (2017)
With my eyes closed
I could have written this mess in about an hour. There is simply nothing original or fresh in this hackneyed attempt at comedy.
Neither of the mains can perform without some major cuing. On top of that, the femme lead is a compilation of the absolute worst ladies in the genre. All big eyes and flippy hair, there is a definite lack of genuine feel for comedy. She had to have every line fed to her or she just couldn't deliver the tags.
I thought the overall concept could have had at least a few laugh out loud parts, but it was as cookie cutter an idea as I believe it is possible to create. They took a concept and turned it into slush. This isn't comedy. This is a snore fest. At least I had a good nap.
Mags and Julie Go on a Road Trip. (2020)
Painful to watch
I have to wonder if I was seeing the same film as everyone else. This was a miserable, overacted, weak-mnded plot with wooden actors and little if any, comedy scale.
The best was the dude who got $500 bucks for doing nothing, while wearing 2/3 of his super cut shorts. His screen time encompassed all the fun in this alleged comedy performance. It was a performance, all right.
A painful lesson in how to write, direct, cast, produce, costume, edit and release a steaming pile. I have seen broadcast news that had more humor involved. Nothing was funny, or made me laugh. I turned it off after almost 1/2 through. Couldn't take another moment.
Valor (2017)
Premier
Character reveals for new show. It's rough, very rough. For one point of reference, if you have US Military service in your life or that of your family, do not watch. You will be disappointed. There are so many breach of regulations, out of uniform issues, fraternization infringements and stupid breach of protocols in every scene, it is unbearable. If a major drama developer wants to make a top-notch and top-rated series, they should at least hire some resource people whose jobs are to help ensure the closest things possible to RL. Failing that, at least TRY. Maybe I am a die-hard cynic, but as a veteran, it just irks me that in the great ratings hunt in over-saturated programming, some attempt at authenticity should be attempted, if not secured. Get the facts right and viewers will almost always overlook the obvious failing in sets, props and other tell-tale fails. The story here fell away, just because all the little details were too glaring to have the dialogue impress. A waste of time.
