Heartbreaking

Warning: Spoilers
This was an eye-opening, thought-provoking, emotional documentary for me to watch. I did not realize the issues that were ongoing between Americans and Filipinos prior to watching this. The Injustice of Jennifer's murder and the sentence the Marine received was just unfair. It seemed like a slap on the wrist. A couple things that occurred to me while watching this were 1) this man had plenty of time to think about what he was doing before Jennifer died, as it takes approximately 4 minutes to strangle someone to death and this is plenty of time to stop and think about your actions, and 2) if this young man reacts this way when he is simply deceived, imagine how he reacts during other circumstances, such as during high pressure situations like actual combat....it gives me shivers. To say that he would have done this again is not an overstatement, IMO. I hope many people are able to watch this and be as enlightened as I was by it. It was hard to watch, but very good!!

Starts slow but definitely picks up!!
7 November 2021
I was a teenager when I read the book for the first time, which I loved. And then came the movies... Tnd then all of the sequels. Needless to say, the first movie was decent, however the rest of them were horrible, as is the case with most adaptations. I went into this show thinking this would be yet another remake that completely ruins the memory of the original, but upon completing episode 7 I can say I was for the most part wrong.

Of course there are differences; a lot more technology and TON of gratuitous sex and illegal drug consumption, which was most definitely NOT in the novel, but we are appealing to a different audience in 2021, so I let those issues slide. The show starts somewhat slowly, with a graduation party with some character development. It's almost impossible to make comparisons while watching, the most notable of which are the fact the original was not centered around twin protagonists, which had me on the fence at the conclusion of the pilot episode. Then in episode two it begins to build up to, so far a somewhat predictable, yet still enjoyable, climax. I've got to say that the death seems are most certainly more enjoyable than they were two decades ago! Depending on how the series finale is executed, my rating may change, but thus far, it's a steady 'above average' rating. I would encourage anyone that is even remotely intrigued by the premise to give this one a shot. In no way does this series deserve the one or two star ratings it has received, presumably by trolls. Very many triggers for certain in this series, so parental units be aware, other than that I just say enjoy it for what it is!

Completely predictable
12 September 2021
Okay, so if you are a die-hard horror or suspense fan, like I am, this might be a good one to pass on. If you don't mind a completely predictable, unoriginal and repetitive plot then this one won't be so bad. The acting was average but the characters, especially the super hosts bloggers were incredibly annoying and very much less than smart. Teddy is the biggest woman! Not only is he an idiot, but he whimpers and cries to an annoying extent. This came off as completely unbelievable to me, I think 99% of the male population, if they were in the situation he was in with claire, would at least man-up a bit, not so much with him. Claire was an annoying control freak, but at least she tried, unlike Teddy. Everything was as I expected it would be in the end, and perhaps had there been some sort of big twist this would have garnered a higher rating. It continues to amaze me how scripts like this make it to production! Seems like originality and creativity are seriously lacking these days!

Loved/Hated it

Absolutely loved the show and I'm actually reading the novels now to see how they compare. I absolutely loved that little Bratz Zack though, and wonder if he is such a little sh@# in the novels or not? Could not stand him pretty much from season 2 when the actor changed, through the rest of the series. Goodweather should have said something to the effect of 'keep him, he's an annoying little brat and I'm glad to be rid of him!' to the Master! I've never hated a child character in a series as much as I hated him. Pretty much every other aspect of the show I enjoyed. Favorite characters were Fet and Gus. Wasn't exactly sad to see how things turned out for Goodweather either, as he turned out to be kind of a creep in the end (or was he always?). Anyone looking for an addictive and dark horror/vampire series should check this one out!

At this point there's only one valid suspect

Terry Hobbs. If you look at all the various documentaries about this case that have him walking to and from with his weeping wife at the time take a close look at his face. Not a single tear in his eye at any point that he's been questioned or even in a shot. When I look at that man I see no emotion at all, a trait of a sociopath. In my opinion he's guilty. DNA evidence supports it, it's just the state of Arkansas does not want to admit what a huge fu@k up this was. We can only hope the next DA has a heart and allows re-examination of evidence.

Left me craving more!

I absolutely love this movie! Great acting, original script and just enough (not too much) CGI! I went into it thinking that it would not be anything special, compared to my dear beloved Harry Potter, and while I was correct in that it didn't meet HP standards it stood out on its own, very much so in fact! I sincerely hope that they continue with this movie series, just like they did with the books, because I really need to know what happens with the rest of this story!

Much better than anticipated
17 December 2019
Going into this I didn't expect a whole lot on account of the mixed reviews, but afterwards I found myself thinking it was so much better than I ever expected!! The acting what's good, special effects were just enough and not over-the-top, and the plot was better than most horror flicks. If you like haunted houses, Thrillers, or just plain like to be scared I would definitely give this one a shot!

Solid werewolf horror
21 August 2019
I will be the first to admit, I usually shy away from any werewolf horror movie. They're usually just too unrealistic looking due to poor special effects and makeup, and the plots usually blow... Happy to say not the case with this one! Not only does the werewolf in this film come across as realistic, the setting of being stranded in the dark, foggy English countryside adds a major creep factor, the acting is far above average compared to most horror films, in the plot is actually good. As far as horror movies go, this is right up there with some of my favorite creature features and an overall good movie. A steady 'A' grade here from me. This one is good enough to at least give a shot. Definitely not a waste of time (unlike a great many horror movies unfortunately) by any means!
