"Let her go" but make it rock n' roll
19 August 2019
Another great Spanish show from Atresmedia. I was hooked from the first episode, something that didn't happen to me with Velvet or Chicas del Cable. The character of Guillermo Rojas is multidimensional and you learn more about him each episode. Although I am a fan of popular actresses like Blanca Suarez, Amaia Salamanca, and Marta Hazas, it was nice to see a fresh face like Guiomar Puerta as Maribel. I had never heard of Carlos Cuevas before either, but he did a great job as Robert. Maribel and Robert are similar to the main couples you may see in many Spanish shows, but their performances won't leave you bored. The visuals were very creative-I like the split screen effect they often use. I'll admit that I wasn't expecting to her songs like "Hey Soul Sister", "Let Her Go", or "Bad Romance" in a show that's supposed to be set in 1962. It would've been cool if they created songs just for this show or used songs from that time period, but overall their music choices weren't too distracting. Definitely give this a shot, even if you aren't usually into Spanish shows. In the US, shows just don't have this kind of vibe.
