Nakusa (2021)
Experimental filmmaking at its finest
Jennifer Kramer's first film, Nakusa, showcases her myriad of talents as a writer, director, producer, actor, and musician. Nakusa is a unique and creative narrative of trauma, disability, loss, and the longing for acceptance. The Rachmaninoff score is haunting and powerful. It stayed with me long after the film ended. I very much look forward to seeing Ms. Kramer's next film!
Medal of Victory (2016)
Original, hilarious, action-packed comedy!
I first saw Medal of Victory at the Wisconsin Film Festival, and then in a theater. This satirical comedy is set in rural Wisconsin, where a series of madcap escapades and mistaken identities ensue. The movie reminds me of some of my favorite screwball comedies (Caddyshack, The Big Lebowski, Raising Arizona).. it was hilarious and thoroughly entertaining. Recognizing some of Wisconsin's landmarks was the icing on the cake.
