Billy the Kid (2022)
Location director
I lost all interest when the trek from New York to Kansas showed the 'wagon train' heading west from the east coast. So why was there a mountain range behind them. There are no 'serious' mountain ranges between NYC and Kansas. Except the Adirondacks or the Blue Mountain range. But they are not that huge. So the view behind them would be the east of the U. S. Last time I checked, there were no HUGE mountain ranges in the Midwest or the mid Tennessee valley. Then when they arrived in that tiny town in KS, there were numerous buttes around the town. I have been to Kansas many times and if you have been as well, there are NO buttes or mountains in Kansas. The tallest thing in that part of the plains is an ant hill. I see that this was filmed in Canada; why didn't they film it in Alberta or Saskatchewan? Maybe a bit more like Kansas.

BORING
If you read some of the reviews for this series, you might scratch your head and wonder why there is so much difference between high marks and low marks. Anywhere from 10's to 1. The only way to see where your preferences lie, is to grab some popcorn a blanket and settle in for some movie night time.
My thoughts...save the popcorn, wash the blanket and go see your dentist for painful dental surgery. I was easily swayed from the folks who said, and I am paraphrasing "ignore the early episodes, be patient, and get taken in by the other episodes for a magnificent mystery/thriller with an outstanding ending."
As each episode ran and moved to the next, all I could think of was that I was lied to. No thriller and not much of a mystery. What this turned out to be was first a primer for drug abuse; and second, a documentary on the Kama Sutra. Not being much of a prude in the field of erotica, I found the gratuitous sex, both straight and gay way past limits. It was if the writer of the screenplay copied letters from Penthouse Forum line by line. He dug deep into his psyche and reached for a fantasy world that he carries around with him.
To wrap up in regard to the rest of the series, the characters were lifeless and did not merit any empathy. It was if you took a bunch of minor characters, put them in a bag, shook them up and then spilled them out and hoping they developed into believable characters. It failed.
The acting itself was close to acceptable, but not memorable. The overt sex scenes got in the way. Others stated that it would be worth the wait for the "tremendous ending". I'm still waiting. No spoiler, because there is none.

On My Watchlist For Far Too Long....
If you were waiting for a cameo from Tommy Solomon from the hit series 3rd Rock From The Sun, you would be seriously disappointed. But the thought of John Lithgow staring out the window of the plane and seeing an engine-eating monster on the wing, did cross my mind. But as this excellent thriller developed, all thoughts of comedy were sucked out of me. Some movies that evoke the thriller title, start with a gang-buster beginning and drag you through the entire ninety plus minutes with no stopping so you can't catch your breath. Leaving you exhausted and entertained; SEE Das Boot. 7500, started slowly and efficiently from the start, and if you didn't think that the director was doing this to lull you to sleep and just expect you to envision a two hour flight from Berlin to Paris, you are deeply misinformed. From the opening scenes(in the form of security cameras) at the Berlin International airport, you are witness to some serious fore-shadowing. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, an American pilot, living and flying in Germany for an airline, is superb in this Amazon Prime Original. His early encounter with his fiancé (a flight attendant) is short (by movie standards) but is fantastically portrayed in a few fleeting moments.
To continue to review and spoil the constant drama of this film would be a waste of time (possibly entering a spoiler or two).
The drama, and excellent job of Gordon-Levitt's acting is worth every on of the 93 minute run-time. He has officially proved himself to move to the next level of handling a serious dramatic role. The entire movie is filmed in a A319 cockpit which seems to complicate the usual Hollywood airline hi-jacking movie, but this is the exception. It not only adds to the drama, but puts us in the cockpit with Levitt, making us feel his emotions and fear at a whole new level that we usually do not get with other airplane movies. If you do not ride the same emotional roller coaster that Levitt has us on, you need to cut back on your medications. A must see...
